General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
TV
PHILIPS 40PFT4509 / 60, like many other electronic devices, it is
advisable to start repairing by inspecting all external and internal
elements. It often happens that visible damage to elements or
connections helps determine the direction of the troubleshooting. In
some cases, faulty elements can be seen with the naked eye, for example,
charred resistors or swollen metal-ceramic capacitors, or electrolytic
in rectifier filters. Ring cracks formed in the soldered terminals of
transformers or heating elements of the circuit are also frequent
sources of many malfunctions with a variety of external manifestations.
If
the 40PFT4509 TV does not turn on, does not make any sounds when it is
turned on, and also no indicators on the front panel light or blink -
there is a high probability of a malfunction in the power supply module.
In some cases, there may be a malfunction only in standby power.
Diagnostics and repair of the common power supply should always begin
with a check of the mains fuse and the condition of the electrolytic
capacitors of the secondary rectifier filters. Defective and swollen
capacitors should be replaced with new ones. If the fuse breaks, it is
advisable to check for a breakdown, first of all, all the power
semiconductor elements of the converter and the diode bridge of the
rectifier network, as well as the large electrolytic capacitor of the
filter of the rectifier network.
Power switches in pulsed power
supplies (SMPS) fail extremely rarely for no reason and, if they are
broken, it is necessary to look for a malfunction in the stabilization
circuits by checking electrolytic capacitors, semiconductor devices, and
resistors in the primary circuit. The cause may be a malfunction of the
PWM controller chip, which can only be checked by replacing it with a
new or obviously working one.
If the PHILIPS 40PFT4509 TV does not
have an image, but there is sound, a malfunction in the backlight
circuits of the LED panel TPT400LA-J6PE1 REV: C1A is likely.
The lack
of backlight often occurs due to an open circuit in the LED circuit.
There is a need for disassembling the panel and checking the LEDs
themselves, as well as the same contact connections in the connectors
and rations of the terminals.
It is impossible to detect a break in
the LED line without disassembling the panel with a simple multimeter.
LEDs are connected in series and to open their transitions, a voltage of
several tens of volts is required. Ideally, a current source is
suitable for such purposes.
Diagnostics and repair of the
715G6165-M01-000-005X motherboard usually begins with a test of the
performance of the stabilizers and power converters of the module chips.
In some cases, a software update is required.
Once again, remind
users! Attempts to independently repair the PHILIPS 40PFT4509 TV without
the appropriate qualifications and experience can lead to its complete
non-repairability!

PSU Advanced
The power module 715G6353-P0B-001-0020 is made
using the Power Factor Correction (PFC) scheme to eliminate multiple AC
harmonics introduced into the power supply by the device. The PFC node
is a Step-Up Converter based on the LD7591T PWM controller, which evenly
distributes high-frequency impulses of the charging current of the
electrolytic capacitor of the rectifier filter of the mains voltage over
a period of 50 Hz. The current of its charge in this case will already
be determined not by its reactance (usually 10-30 ohms for the network
frequency), but by the elements of the converter. As a result, a change
in the amplitude of the pulses (envelope) of the consumed current of the
converter will repeat the shape and phase of the input sinusoidal
voltage. The availability of an increased voltage (about + 380V) in the
operating mode on the capacitor of the line filter indicates the
serviceability of the PFC node.
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the PHILIPS 40PFT4509 device:
Installed matrix (LED panel) TPT400LA-J6PE1 REV: C1A.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) V390HJ1-XRME1.
To
power the backlight LEDs, a converter is used, combined with a power
supply, controlled by the LD7890GS PWM controller. As power elements of
the LED driver, keys of the type EMD60N10F are used.
The necessary
supply voltages for all nodes of the PHILIPS 40PFT4509 television are
generated by the 715G6353-P0B-001-0020 power supply module or its
analogs using the LD7591T (PFC), SSC1S311 (PWM) microcircuits and power
switches of the TK15A60U (PFC), TK13A65U type.
MainBoard - the main
board (motherboard) is a 715G6165-M01-000-005X module, using CPU chips:
MT5580PUEI; DRAM: K4B4G1646B-HCK0; NAND Flash: TC58NVG2S3ETAI0; SPI
Flash: CAT24C128WI and others.
The TTDSY-G720D tuner provides TV reception and channel tuning.
