These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

SERVICE MODE

How to enter to service mode
Turn on power, press the Menu button, pull out the power cord, and then plug the power cord. Then the factory OSD will be at the left top of the panel.
 Adjust the Picture 
1.Press the MENU-button to activate the OSD window.
2.Press+ or - to navigate through the functions. Once the desired function is highlighted, press the ENU-button to activate it. If the function selected has a sub-menu, press or again to navigate through the sub-menu unctions.Once the desired function is highlighted, presses MENU-button to activate it.
3.Press+ or - to change the settings of the selected function. To exit and save, select the exit function. If you want to adjust any other function, repeat steps 2-3.
OSD Lock Function: To lock the OSD, press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on. To un-lock the OSD - press and hold the MENU button while the monitor is off and then press power button to turn the monitor on.
4.Press Exit key continually for 7 sec. to turn on or off DDC-CI.
White- Balance, Luminance Adjustment 
Approximately 30 minutes should be allowed for warm up before proceeding White-Balance adjustment.
1. How to do the Chroma-7120 MEM .Channel setting
A. Reference to chroma 7120 user guide
B. Use “SC” key and “NEXT” key to modify xyY value and use “ID” key to  modify 
the TEXT description Following is the procedure to do white-balance adjust
2. Setting the color temp. You want
A. 9300 color:
9300k color temp. parameter is x = 283 ±25, y = 297 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2 ,    
B. 7300 color:
7300k color temp. parameter is x = 299 ±25, y = 315 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2 
C. 6500 color:
6500k color temp. parameter is x = 313 ±25, y = 329 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2   
D.SRGB
SRGB color temp. parameter is x = 313 ±25, y = 329 ±25, Y = 150 cd/m2
 3. Enter into factory mode of 2216Sw
 Turn on power, press the Menu button, pull out the power cord, and then plug the power cord. Then the factory OSD will be at the left top of the panel.
 4. Bias adjustment:
Set the Contrast to 90
Adjust the Brightness  to 100.
 5. Gain adjustment :
Move cursor to “-F-” and press MENU key
A. Adjust 9300k color-temperature           
1. Switch the Chroma-7120 to 9300k channel.
2. The chroma 7120 will show x = 283 ±25, y = 297 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2
3. Switch the chroma-7120 to RGB MODE (with press “MODE” button to change)
4. Adjust the RED of color 9300K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value   R=100
5. Adjust the GREEN of color 9300K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value  G=100                    
6. Adjust the BLUE of color 9300K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value  B=100 
7. Repeat above procedure (item 4, 5, 6) until chroma 7120 RGB value meet the tolerance =100±2
B. Adjust 7300k color-temperature
1. Switch the chroma-7120 to 7300k channel.
2. The chroma 7120 will show x = 299 ±25, y = 315 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2
3. Switch the chroma 7120 to RGB MODE (with press “MODE” button to change)
4. Adjust the RED of color 7300k on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value R=100
5. Adjust the GREEN of color 7300k on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value G=100
6. Adjust the BLUE of color 7300k on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value B=100
7. Repeat above procedure (item 4, 5, 6) until chroma 7120 RGB value meet the tolerance =100±2
C. Adjust 6500k color-temperature
1. Switch the chroma-7120 to 6500K channel.
2. The chroma 7120 will show x = 313 ±25, y = 329 ±25, Y = 180 ±25 cd/m2
3. Switch the chroma 7120 to RGB MODE (with press “MODE” button to change)
4. Adjust the RED of color 6500K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value R=100
5. Adjust the GREEN of color 6500K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value G=100
6. Adjust the BLUE of color 6500K on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value B=100
7. Repeat above procedure (item 4, 5, 6) until chroma 7120 RGB value meet the tolerance =100±2
 D. Adjust SRGB color-temperature
1. Switch the chroma-7120 to SRGB channel.
2. The chroma 7120 will show x = 313 ±25, y = 329 ±25, Y = 150cd/m2
3. Switch the chroma 7120 l to RGB MODE (with press “MODE” button to change)
4. Adjust the RED of color sRGB on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value R=100
5. Adjust the GREEN of color sRGB on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value G=100
6. Adjust the BLUE of color sRGB on factory window until chroma 7120 indicator reached the value B=100
7. Repeat above procedure (item 4, 5, 6) until chroma 7120 RGB value meet the tolerance =100±2
E. Press reset key and Turn the Power-button “off to on” to quit from factory mode.
