REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

DISASSEMBLING PROCEDURE
Before you start to repair the iPad Mini Retina, make sure you are aware of the antennas on either side of the home button. When prying up the touch screen digitizer of the iPad Mini be mindful of these parts so you do not damage them (shown with orange arrows).
The following process is recommended only on an Apple tablet with a CRACKED or DAMAGED touch screen digitizer that requires replacement.
First, use the heat gun/blow dryer to begin warming up the adhesive securing the touch screen digitizer assembly to the iPad Mini’s rear case.
Next, slip the precision knife tool between the tight seam of the glass touch screen and the iPad’s rear case to begin the separation of the two parts.
Once the two parts are separated slightly, you can use a plastic or triangle opening tool to continue working around the tablet.
While working around the perimeter of the iPad Mini Retina prying up the touch screen digitizer, use triangle opening tools to make sure the glass does not come back in contact with the adhesive.
When you have completely separated the touch screen digitizer, lift it from the bottom (home button side) of the iPad Mini Retina similar to opening a book. Do not completely remove it as the touch screen digitizer ribbon cable is still connected to the motherboard.
How to remove Retina Display
Locate and remove the four small Phillips screws (#00) that secure the Retina display into the iPad Mini (marked with solid orange circles).
Lift the Retina display out of the iPad similar to opening a book (the same way you did your touch screen digitizer), resting it on the touch screen.
Next, locate and remove the seven small Phillips screws (#00) that secure a metal protective plate into the iPad (marked with solid orange circles).
Now, locate and remove the three small Phillips screws (#00) that secure the metal protective plate that covers the Retina display & touch screen digitizer cables (marked with solid orange circles).
With the protective plate removed, use the plastic opening tool or nylon spudger to gently release the connections from the motherboard. You can now remove the Retina display & touch screen digitizer from the iPad Mini Retina.
How to remove Front-Facing Camera
The housing that aligns and secures the front-facing camera is held in place with a small amount of adhesive. Carefully pry the housing up and out of the iPad Mini.
The front-facing camera flex cable can be disconnected using the plastic opening tool or fine tip curved tweezers. You can now remove the front-facing camera.
How to remove Headphone Jack Assembly
Locate and remove the one Phillips screw (#00) that secures the headphone jack into the top of the iPad Mini (marked with a solid orange circle).
Use the fine tip curved tweezers or plastic opening tool to release the cable for the headphone jack (located to the right of the front-facing camera).
The microphone portion of the assembly is secured in place with a small amount of adhesive; the use of a heat gun or blow dryer is encouraged to warm up the adhesive and prevent any damage to the delicate flex cable.
How to remove Rear-Facing Camera
Locate and remove the one small Phillips screw (#00) that secures rear-facing camera into the corner of the iPad Mini Retina (marked with a solid orange circle).
Now use the fine tip curved tweezers or plastic opening tool to release the cable for the rear-facing camera.
The rear-facing camera is secured in place with a small amount of adhesive, use the fine tip curved tweezers to pry it up from its location and remove it from the iPad Mini Retina.
How to remove Loudspeaker Assemblies
Locate and remove the nine small Phillips screws (#00) that secure both loudspeaker assemblies and antennas into the rear case of the tablet (marked with solid orange circles).
Next, locate and disconnect the two coaxial cables on the motherboard (marked with open white circles).
The loudspeaker assemblies, which each have a WiFi antenna adhered to the top of them, will easily slide out from their housing located toward the bottom of the iPad Mini Retina.
How to remove Power & Volume Button Assembly
Locate and remove the one small Phillips screw (#00) that secures the ribbon cable connection into the side of the iPad Mini (marked with solid orange circle).
Use the fine tip curved tweezers or plastic opening tool to release this connection, peel it to the side revealing the securing screws for the power & volume button assembly.
Next, locate and remove the four small Phillips screws (#00) that secure the power & volume button assembly into the side of the iPad Mini Retina (marked with solid orange circles).
With the screws removed, you can maneuver the power and volume button assembly up and out of the iPad Mini Retina.
How to remove Motherboard (w/Lightning Connector) & Battery
First, use the nylon spudger to release the battery connection from the motherboard. Now, locate and remove the five small Phillips screws
(#00) that secure the motherboard, as well as the dock connector, into the bottom of the iPad Mini’s rear case (marked with solid orange circles). With the securing screws removed and connections released, your motherboard should be free to lift up and remove from the iPad Mini.
The battery is secured into the rear case of the iPad Mini Retina with quite a bit of adhesive, use the heat gun or blow dryer to warm up the rear case of the tablet and soften up the adhesive securing the battery.
Next, use the flat side of your spudger to carefully pry up and release the battery from the securing adhesive. When prying up the battery, be careful not to bend or damage it.
