REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

SHARP LC-32LE510RU
General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
Repair of electronic equipment usually begins with its external inspection and diagnosis of the malfunction. In this case, you should examine all the internal components of the TV SHARP LC-32LE510RU, as well as the external elements of the housing. Often, by the external signs and nature of the damage to the elements, it becomes possible to draw some conclusions and determine a further algorithm for finding a defect before making the necessary measurements at control points. In some cases, faulty elements can be seen with the naked eye, for example, charred resistors or swollen metal-ceramic capacitors, or electrolytic in rectifier filters. Ring cracks formed in the soldered terminals of transformers or heating elements of the circuit are also frequent sources of many malfunctions with a variety of external manifestations.
In cases when the SHARP LC-32LE510RU TV does not turn on, does not respond to the remote control and buttons, any indicators on the front panel do not light up or blink, and there are no sounds and no signs of operability when turning on, the 17PW07-2 power supply module is most likely faulty or there is no processor power on the motherboard (a typical defect of some SHARP TVs). First of all, it is necessary to replace the swollen capacitors of the rectifier filters, if any. If the mains fuse is cut off in the power supply, in most cases a breakdown of the power key (s) AO4842 is detected, which can be integrated with a PWM controller, or a separate field-effect transistor can be used. The rectifier bridge diodes and the electrolytic capacitor of the mains rectifier filter should also be checked.
The reasons for the breakdown of the power switch in switching power supplies (IIPS) can be different, for example, a malfunction of semiconductor cells or electrolytic capacitors in the stabilization circuits of the primary circuit, as well as a failure in the operation of the FAN7621 FAN7529 FSDL321 NCP1579 PWM controller or broken resistors in its wiring.
If the SHARP LC-32LE510RU has no image, there is sound and the channels are switched, there is a possibility of a malfunction in the backlight LED circuit of the LC320EUN SD V1 panel, or their power converter - LED driver. Sometimes when you turn on the image appears and disappears immediately. In such cases, it is necessary to check the electrolytic capacitors of the power filter of the LED driver itself, including in the secondary rectifier of the main PSU.
Often there is a need for disassembling the panel to check the health of the LEDs, as well as contact connections in the connectors and soldering.
To check the LED lines for breaks without disassembling the panel, for example, a current source will help. It is impossible to open series-connected PN junctions with a simple multimeter, a voltage of the order of several tens of volts is required.
It should be remembered! Attempts to repair the SHARP LC-32LE510RU TV, in the absence of the necessary qualifications and experience, are categorically not recommended and are fraught with negative consequences, up to the complete non-repairability of the device!

The appearance of the MainBoard 17MB60-4 is shown in the figure below:
The 17MB60-4 motherboard is made using the MSD9WB7PX-2 processor, combined with a scaler. For its work, two microchips of external random access memory (DDR) HY5PS121621C and read-only memory (ROM) NAND512-A are used. To ensure processor power, stabilizers 1.2V, 2.5V, 3.3V are used. For DDR, the voltage is 1.8V, for the power of NAND 3.3V. It is advisable to start the repair by checking the power supply of the standby mode 3.3V. Further, in the operating mode, it is necessary to check the operability of all linear stabilizers and voltage converters. If there is a backlight and no image, the power of the 5V or 12V LCD panel, depending on the type of panel used, can be measured directly on the LVDS connector. A typical malfunction is a NAND ROM software failure. At the same time, the TV does not turn on and the indicators on the panel blink. It is updated via the USB port if the software of the SPI FLASH chip in which the bootloader is located is not damaged, or if there is a mboot.bin file on the media, which can be used as standard SPI FLASH content.
17MB60-4 can be used in TVs:
SHARP LC-19LE510RU (Panel LC185EXN (SD)(A1)), SHARP LC-22LE510RU (Panel 22 "), SHARP LC-32LE510RU (Panel LC320EUN SD V1), SHARP LC-32SH130E (Panel LC320WXN / 720p HD), SHARP LC-32SH340 LC-32SH340E (Panel LC320WUN (SC)(B1) ), TOSHIBA 19EL833R (Panel V185B1-LE2 LED), TOSHIBA 26LD833F (Panel LC260EXN (SD)(A3)), TOSHIBA 32DL833R 32DL834R (Panel LC320EXN SD A2 led).
PSU Advanced
The 17PW07-2 power supply module is made using the Power Factor Correction (PFC) scheme to eliminate multiple AC harmonics introduced into the power supply by the device. The PFC assembly is a Step-Up Converter based on the FAN7529 PWM controller, which evenly distributes high-frequency pulses of the charging current of the electrolytic capacitor of the rectifier filter of the mains voltage over a period of 50 Hz. The current of its charge in this case will already be determined not by its reactance (usually 10-30 ohms for the network frequency), but by the elements of the converter. As a result, a change in the amplitude of the pulses (envelope) of the consumed current of the converter will repeat the shape and phase of the input sinusoidal voltage. The availability of an increased voltage (about + 380V) in the operating mode on the capacitor of the line filter indicates the serviceability of the PFC node.
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the SHARP LC-32LE510RU device:
Installed matrix (LED-panel) LC320EUN SD V1.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) 6870C-0368A.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the SHARP LC-32LE510RU TV are generated by the 17PW07-2 power module or its analogs using FAN7621 (PWM resonant), FAN7529 (PFC), FSDL321 (Standby), NCP1579 (Step-Down) microcircuits and power switches type FQPFN50C, AO4842.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is a 17MB60-4 module using CPU chips: MSD9WB7PX; DRAM: HY5PS121621C; NAND Flash: NAND512-A and others.
The DTOS403LH122E tuner provides TV reception and channel tuning.
