REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD
Repairing a Sitronics LCD-1701 TV is best started with a thorough external inspection and troubleshooting. It is advisable to carefully examine the internal and external components. It often happens that some damage to elements or connections will help determine the correct direction of troubleshooting and localization of the defect. Electrolytic capacitors of filters with a swollen body, as well as ring cracks or a layer of coal on burned-out resistors formed in soldered terminals of heating elements, sometimes tell the repairman the causes of the malfunction and possible consequences.
In cases when the Sitronics LCD-1701 TV does not turn on, does not respond to the remote control and buttons, no indicators on the front panel are lit or blinking, and there are no sounds and no signs of operability when turning on, the addap LAD6019AB5 12v power supply module is most likely to be faulty / 5a or, which is much less common, there is no processor power on the motherboard. If the mains fuse is broken in the power supply, in most cases a breakdown of the power switch D1804 (chip) is detected, which can be integrated with a PWM controller, or a separate field-effect transistor can be used. You should also check the rectifier bridge diodes and the electrolytic capacitor of the mains rectifier filter.
The reasons for the breakdown of the power switch of the flyback converter of the power module can be different, for example, a malfunction of semiconductor cells or electrolytic capacitors in the stabilization circuits of the primary circuit, as well as a failure in the operation of the PWM controller 9435A (8n) pl or broken resistors in its wiring.
Diagnostics of power modules with a Power Factor Corrector (CMC) is somewhat more complicated and requires a more detailed approach.
In cases where the Sitronics LCD-1701 TV has lost an image, and the sound is there and all the other functions are operational, there is a possibility of a malfunction of the inverter (converter for powering the backlight). When you turn on the TV, the image may appear briefly and immediately disappear. It must be borne in mind that with such manifestations, the lamps themselves also fail, the malfunction of which can be detected by replacement, by connecting to the connectors for diagnostics that are known to be serviceable and suitable in power.
Often, attempts to repair the DATA ST-4-1963 4428A4346992 inverter are hampered by the fact that the fault diagnosis is complicated by the operation of its protection, which is designed to turn off the inverter in emergency conditions - when the lamps are depressurized, breaks or short circuits in high-voltage connections and other emergency situations. Lock protection to localize the defect is popular among repairmen.
Turning off the protection for diagnostic purposes, it must be remembered that in this case there is a risk of failure of the power elements of the inverter. Upon completion of the diagnosis, all regular protection circuits should be restored.
For LCD-1701 TV owners, we recommend that you contact qualified professionals with work experience for repairs! Self-repair attempts without the appropriate knowledge and skills can lead to serious negative consequences!
