However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Updating firmware [Software]
When the following parts are replaced, the firmware must be updated to the latest version.
DIGITAL P.C.B.
IC951 (TI (DSP) flash ROM) of DIGITAL P.C.B
Confirmation of firmware version and checksum
Before and after updating the firmware, check the firmware version and checksum by using the self diagnostic function menu.
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “S4.
ROM VER/SUM” menu.
Using the sub-menu, have the firmware version and checksum displayed, and note them down.
* When the firmware version is different from written one after updating, perform the updating procedure again from the beginning.
Initializing the back-up IC
(EEPROM: IC903 of the DIGITAL P.C.B.)
After updating the firmware, the back-up IC MUST be initialised by the following procedure to have proper memorisation of the set up information (sound field parameters, system memory and tuner presetting, etc.).
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “S3.
FACTORY PRESET” menu. (See “SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION”)
Select “PRESET RSRV”, press the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key of this unit to turn off the power once and turn on the power again. Then the back-up IC is initialized.
Required Tools
• BD, DVD or CD player (with DIGITAL OUTPUT (OPTICAL or COAXIAL) jack)
• Optical cable (when OPTICAL jack is used)
• Digital audio pin cable (when COAXIAL jack is used)
• Firmware CD
* Download the latest firmware from the specified download source and create the firmware CD.
Connection
Connect this unit and BD/DVD/CD player as shown below.
Operation Procedures
1. While pressing the “TUNING >>” key of this unit, connect the power cable of this unit to the AC outlet.
The FIRMWARE UPDATE mode is activated and “CDDA Upgrader” is displayed.
2. Play the firmware CD on the BD/DVD/CD player. Writing of the firmware starts automatically.
3. When writing of the firmware is completed, “Update Success”, “Please...” and “Power off!!” are displayed repeatedly.
* If the display remains unchanged for more than 10 seconds after starting the firmware CD play procedure, perform the firmware CD play procedure again from the beginning.
If “FILE CORRUPTED” is displayed after “Address:XXXXXX”, make sure that the written data is not corrupted and perform Steps 1 to 3 of “Operation Procedures” again.
If “Upgrade Failed” is displayed, perform "operation procedures" again from the beginning.
4. Press the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key of this unit to turn off the power.
5. Eject the firmware CD from the BD/DVD/CD player.
6. Start up the self-diagnostic function and check that the firmware version and checksum are the same as written ones. (See “Confirmation of firmware version and checksum”)
Self-diagnostic function
This unit has self-diagnostic functions that are intended for inspection, measurement and location of faulty point. There are 24 main menu items, each of which has sub-menu items.
Starting Self-Diagnostic Function.
While pressing the “TONE CONTROL” and “INFO” keys of this unit, press the “MAIN ZONE ”(power) key of this unit to turn on the power.
The self-diagnostic function mode is activated.
Starting Self-Diagnostic Function in the protection cancel mode
If the protection function works and causes hindrance to trouble shoot, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the self-diagnostic function mode.
(The protection functions other than the excess current detect function will be disabled.)
While pressing the “TONE CONTROL” and “INFO” keys press the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key to turn on the power and keep pressing those 2 keys for 3 seconds or longer.
The self-diagnostic function mode is activated with the protection functions disabled.
In this mode, the “SLEEP” segment of the FL display of this unit flashes to indicate that the mode is self-diagnostic function mode with the protection functions disabled.
CAUTION
Using this product with the protection function disabled may cause further damage to this unit. Use special care for this point when using this mode.
Cancelling Self-Diagnostic Function
Before cancelling self-diagnostic function, execute setting for FACTORY PRESET of main menu No. S3. (Memory initialisation inhibited or Memory initialised). * In order to keep the user memory preserved, be sure to select PRESET INHIBIT (Memory initialisation inhibited). Press the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key of this unit to turn off the power
Display provided when Self-Diagnostic Function started
The display is as described below depending on the situation the last time the power to this unit is turned off.
When the power is turned off by usual operation:
The FL display of this unit displays “NO PROTECT” then the main menu (sub-menu “A1-1. DSP MARGIN” of main menu No. A1 DSP AUDIO) a few seconds later.
When the protection function worked to turn off the power:
The FL display of this unit displays the data of protection function which worked at that time then the main menu (sub-menu “A1-1. DSP MARGIN” of main menu No. A1 DSP AUDIO) a few seconds later.
Note: At that time if you reactivate the self-diagnostic function after turning off the power once by pressing the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key, “NO PROTECT” will be displayed because that situation is equal to “1. When the power is turned off by usual operation:” described above.
However the protection function history is stored in a back-up IC with a backup. For details, refer to main menu P2 PROTECTION HISTORY.”
When there is a history of protection function due to excess current.
An excessive current flowed through the power amplifier.
Supplementary information: As current of the power amplifier is detected, the abnormal channel can be identified by checking the current detect transistor.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work immediately and the power supply will instantly be shut off.
Notes)
• Applying the power to this unit without correcting the abnormality can be dangerous and cause additional circuit damage. To avoid this, if “I PROTECT” protection function works 1 time, the power will not turn on even when the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key is pressed. In order to turn on the power again, start up the self-diagnostic function.
• The output transistors in each amplifier channel should be checked for damage before applying power to this unit.
• Amplifier current should be monitored by measuring DC voltage across the emitter resistors for each channel.
When the protection function worked due to abnormal DC output.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a DC voltage appearing at the speaker terminal. Cause could be a defect in the amplifier.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 3 seconds and the power supply will be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to abnormal voltage in the power supply section.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a defect or overload in the power supply.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 1 second and the power supply will be shut off.
Notes)
• Applying the power to this unit without correcting the abnormality can be dangerous and cause additional circuit damage. To avoid this, if “PS” and “DC” protection function works 3 times consecutively, the power will not turn on even when the “MAIN ZONE ” (power) key is pressed.
In order to turn on the power again, start up the self-diagnostic function.
• The output transistors in each amplifier channel should be checked for damage before applying power to this unit.
• Amplifier current should be monitored by measuring DC voltage across the emitter resistors for each channel.
The temperature of the heat sink is excessive. Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to the temperature limit being exceeded.
Causes could be poor ventilation or a defect related to the thermal sensor.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 1 second and the power supply will be shut off.
History of protection function When the protection function has worked, its history is stored in memory with a backup. Even if no abnormality is noted while servicing the unit, an abnormality which has occurred previously can be defined as long as the backup data has been stored. Initial settings used to start Self Diagnostic Function The following initial settings are used when starting self diagnostic function. When self-diagnostic function is cancelled, these settings are restored to those before starting self-diagnostic function. • Master volume: -20 dB / Zone volume: +2.5dB • Input: HDMI1 / Zone: AUDIO1 • Main menu: A1-1. DSP MARGIN • Speaker setting: LARGE, Bass out to SWFR (All channels) • HDMI Control: Off • Zone: On
Details of Self-Diagnostic Function menu
DSP AUDIO This menu is used to check audio signal route via DSP. A1-1. DSP MARGIN The audio signal is output including the head margin via DSP. * When input source is stereo, signal is assigned as below. Front L: Front L, Center, Surround L, Surround Back L Front R: Front R, Surround R, Surround Back R Front L +10 dB: Sub-woofer.
DSP NON MARGIN The SUB-WOOFER signal is output including the head margin via DSP. The audio signal other than SUB-WOOFER is output without including the head margin via DSP.
When the protection function worked due to excessive heat sink temperature.
Confirmation of idling current of amp unit
Right after power is turned on, confirm that the voltage across the terminals of R1152 (SURROUND BACK RCH), R1154 (SURROUND RCH), R1150 (FRONT RCH), R1148 (CENTER), R1149 (FRONT LCH), R1153 (SURROUND LCH), R1151 (SURROUND BACK LCH) are between 0.1mV and 10.0mV.
  If it exceeds 10.0 mV, open (cut off) R1090 (SURROUND BACK RCH), R1092 (SURROUND RCH), R1088 (FRONT RCH), R1086 (CENTER), R1087 (FRONT LCH), R1091 (SURROUND Lch), R1089 (SURROUND BACK LCH) and reconfirm the voltage.
Attention
  If the measured voltage exceeds 10.0mV after an amplifier repair, first check for a defective component before cutting the bias resistor.
  Confirm that the voltage is 0.2 mV to 15.0 mV after 60 minutes.

Self-Diagnostic Function
While pressing the “TONE CONTROL” and “INFO” keys, press the (Power) key to turn on the power and keep pressing those 2 keys and  (Power) key for 3 seconds or longer. The self-diagnostic function mode is activated.
Canceling Self-Diagnostic Function
1. Before canceling self-diagnostic function, execute setting for “S3. FACTORY PRESET” menu. (Memory initialization inhibited or Memory initialized).
In order to keep the user memory preserved, be sure to select PRESET INHIBIT (Memory initialization inhibited)
2. Press the (Power) key to turn off the power
 
PROTECTION MODES AND CAUSES
When there is a history of protection function due to excess current.
Cause: An excessive current flowed through the power amplifier.
Supplementary information: As current of the power amplifier is detected, the abnormal channel can be identified by checking the current detect transistor.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work immediately and the power supply will instantly be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to abnormal DC output
Cause: DC output of the power amplifier is abnormal.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a DC voltage appearing at the speaker terminal. A cause could be a defect in the amplifier.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 5 seconds and the power supply will be shut off
When the protection function worked due to abnormal voltage in the power supply section.
Cause: The voltage in the power supply section is abnormal.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a defect or overload in the power supply.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 1 seconds and the power supply will be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to excessive heatsink temperature.

Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to the temperature limit being exceeded.

UPDATING FIRMWARE

After updating the firmware, the back-up IC MUST be initialized by the following procedure to store the setting information (soundfield parameters, system memory and tuner presetting, etc.) properly
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “S3. FACTORY PRESET” menu.
Select “PRESET RSRV”, press the (Power) key to turn off the power once and turn on the power again. Then the back-up IC is initialized.
Firmware Updating  procedure 
1. Insert the USB storage device to the USB jack.
2. While pressing the “INFO” key, connect the power cable to the AC outlet.
3. The USB UPDATE mode is activated and “USB Update” is displayed. Writing of the firmware starts automatically.
4. When writing of the firmware is completed, “UPDATE SUCCESS”, “PLEASE...” and “POWER OFF!” are displayed repeatedly.
5. Press the (Power) key to turn off the power.
6. Remove the USB storage device from the USB jack.
7. Start up the self-diagnostic function and check that the firmware version and checksum

UPDATING FIRMWARE
Confirmation of firmware version and checksum
Before and after updating the firmware, check the firmware version and checksum by using the self-diagnostic function menu.
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “25. ROM VER/SUM/PORT” menu.
Using the sub-menu, have the firmware version and checksum displayed, and note them down.
When the firmware version is different from written one after updating, perform the updating procedure from the beginning again
Initializing the back-up IC (EEPROM: IC222 on DIGITAL P.C.B.)
After updating the firmware, the back-up IC MUST be initialized by the following procedure to store the setting information (soundfield parameters, system memory and tuner presetting, etc.) properly.
Start up the self-diagnostic function and select “24. FACTORY PRESET” menu. (For details, refer to “SELF-DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION”)
Select “24. PRESET RSRV”, press the “ ” (Power) key to turn off the power once and turn on the power again. Then the back-up IC is initialized.
Connection
Connect a CD/DVD/BD player to this unit as shown below.
Operation Procedures
1. While pressing the “INFO” key, connect the power cable to the AC outlet.
The FIRMWARE UPDATE mode is activated and “CDDA Upgrader” is displayed.
2. Play the firmware CD on the CD/DVD/BD player. Writing of the firmware starts automatically.
3. When writing of the firmware is completed, “Update Success”, “Please...” and “Power off!!” are displayed repeatedly.

2. When the protection function worked to turn off the power:
The information of protection function which worked at that time is displayed. Then “1.ANALOG BYPAS” is displayed in a few seconds.
Note: At that time if you restart the self-diagnostic function after turning off the power once, “NO PROTECT” will be displayed. That is because that situation is equal to “1. When the power is turned off by usual operation:”.
When the protection function worked due to excess current.
Cause: An excessive current flowed through the power amplifier.
Supplementary information: As current of the power amplifier is detected, the abnormal channel can be identified by checking the current detect transistor.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work immediately and the power supply will instantly be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to a short between speaker terminals.
Cause: The line between speaker terminals is shorted.
Supplementary information: As the excess current is detected after operation of the speaker relay, the shorted speaker terminal and the connected speaker can be identified.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work immediately and the power supply will instantly be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to abnormal DC output.
Cause: DC output of the power amplifier is abnormal.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a DC voltage appearing at the speaker terminal. A cause could be a defect in the amplifier.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 3 seconds and the power supply will be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to abnormal voltage in the power supply section.
Cause: The voltage in the power supply section is abnormal.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to a defect or overload in the power supply.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work in 1 seconds and the power supply will be shut off.
When the protection function worked due to excessive heatsink temperature.
Cause: The temperature of the heatsink is excessive.
Supplementary information: The protection function worked due to the temperature limit being exceeded.

Starting Self-diagnostic Function
Press the “STANDBY/ON” key while simultaneously pressing STRAIGHT and AUDIO SELECT keys.
Starting Self-diagnostic Function in the protection cancel mode
If the protection function works and causes hindrance to trouble diagnosis, cancel the protection function as described below, and it will be possible to enter the self-diagnostic function mode. (The protection functions other than the excess current detect function will be disabled.)
Press the “STANDBY/ON” key while simultaneously pressing those two keys STRAIGHT and AUDIO SELECT keys . At this time, keep pressing those two keys for 3 seconds or longer.
In this mode, the [SLEEP] segment of the FL display of this unit flashes to indicate that the mode is self-diagnostic function mode with the protection functions disabled.
Canceling Self-diagnostic Function
1. Before canceling self-diagnostic function, execute setting for FACTORY PRESET of main menu No.13 (Memory initialization inhibited or Memory initialized).
# In order to keep the user memory stored, be sure to select PRESET INHIBITED (Memory initialization inhibited).
2. Turn off the power by pressing the “STANDBY/ON” key of this unit.
# Display provided when Self-diagnostic Function started
On the FL display of this unit, an opening message (including the protection history) appears for a few seconds followed by the self-diagnostic function menu display
When there is a history of protection function due to excess current
Cause: An excessive current flowed through the power amplifier.
Supplementary information:
As current of the power amplifier is detected, the abnormal channel can be identified by checking the current detect transistor.
Turning on the power without correcting the abnormality will cause the protection function to work immediately and the power supply will instantly be shut off.
Note:
# Applying the power to this unit without correcting the abnormality can be dangerous and cause additional circuit damage. To avoid this, if “PRI” and “PRD” protection function has been activated 3 times continuously, the power will not turn on even when the “STANDBY/ON” key is pressed. In order to turn on the power again, disconnect the power cable of this unit from the AC outlet once and then reconnect it again.
# The output transistors in each amplifier channel should be checked for damage before applying power to this unit.
# Amplifier current should be monitored by measuring DC voltage across the emitter resistors for each channel.
When there is a history of protection function due to abnormal DC output
Cause: DC output of the power amplifier is abnormal.
Supplementary information:
The protection function worked due to a DC voltage appearing at the speaker terminal. A cause could be a defect in the amplifier.
If the power is turned on with the abnormality unsolved, the protection function works in about 3 seconds to turn off the power.
When there is a history of protection function due to abnormal voltage in the power supply section
Cause: The voltage in the power supply section is abnormal.
Supplementary information:
The protection function worked due to a defect or overload in the power supply.
If the power is turned on with the abnormality unsolved, the protection function works in about 1 second to turn off the power.
When there is a history of protection function due to excessive heat sink temperature
Cause: The temperature of the heat sink is excessive.
Supplementary information:
The protection function worked due to the temperature limit being exceeded. Causes could be poor ventilation or a defect related to the thermal sensor.
If the power is turned on with the abnormality unsolved, the protection function works in about 1 second to turn off the power. For detection of each protection function, refer to main menu described later.

Even if no abnormality is noted while servicing the unit, an abnormality which has occurred previously can be defined as long as the backup data has been stored. The history of the protection function is cleared when self-diagnostic function is cancelled by selecting PRESET RESERVED (Memory initialized) of main menu No. 13 or when the backup data is erased.
Operation procedure of Main menu and Sub-menu
There are 14 menu items, each of having sub-menu items.
Main menu selection:
Select the menu using “>” (forward) and “<” (reverse) keys of PROGRAM.
Sub-menu selection:
Select the sub-menu using “SCENE 2” (forward) and “SCENE 1” (Reverse) keys.

UPDATING FIRMWARE
After replacing the following parts, be sure to write the latest firmware.

Required Tools
# DVD or CD player (with DIGITAL OUTPUT (OPTICAL or COAXIAL) jack)
# Optical cable (when OPTICAL jack is used)
# Digital audio pin cable (when COAXIAL jack is used)

# To make the firmware CD, download the latest firmware from the specified download source to PC.
Operation Procedures
1. Connect this unit and DVD/CD player to optical input
2. While simultaneously pressing the “STANDBY/ON” and “SPEAKERS A/B/OFF” keys of this unit, connect the power cable of this unit to the AC outlet.
The FIRMWARE UPDATE mode is activated and “SPDIF Upgrade” is displayed.
3. Connect the power cable of DVD/CD player to the AC outlet.
4. Press the “STANDBY/ON” key of the DVD/CD player.
5. Press the “EJECT” key of the DVD/CD player to open the disc tray.
6. Place the firmware CD in the disc tray and close the disc tray.
7. Press the “PLAY” key of the DVD/CD player. Then writing of the firmware is started.
8. When writing of the firmware is completed, “Upgrade OK”, “Please...” and “Turn off!!” are displayed repeatedly.
When the version of the firmware to be written is the same as the one existing in this unit, “Same Version”, “Please...” and “Turn off!!” are displayed repeatedly. (Upgrading is not necessary.)
If the display remains unchanged for more than 10 seconds after starting the firmware CD play procedure, perform the firmware CD play procedure again from the beginning.
If “FILE CORRUPTED” is displayed after “Address:XXXXXX”, make sure that the firmware CD is not corrupted and perform steps 1 to 8 of “Operation Procedures” again.
If “Upgrade Failed” is displayed, perform Steps 1 to 8 of “Operation Procedures” again.
9. Press the “STOP” key of the DVD/CD player.
10. Press the “EJECT” key of the DVD/CD player to open the disc tray.
11. Remove the firmware CD from the disc tray and close the disc tray.
12. Turn off the power of the DVD/CD player and disconnect the power cable from the AC outlet.
13. Turn off the power by pressing the “STANDBY/ON” key of this unit.
Confirmation of firmware version and checksum
To confirm that the firmware is updated successfully, check the firmware version and checksum value by using the self diagnostic function menu “14. ROM VER/SUM”.
For more information, refer to “SELF DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION”.
# When the displayed firmware version and checksum are different from written firmware version and checksum, follow
the steps from 1 to 13 of “Operation Procedures” again.
Initializing of this unit
# After updating the firmware, be sure to initialize this unit.
1. Connect the power cable of this unit to the AC outlet.
2. Press the “STANDBY/ON” key while simultaneously pressing the “STRAIGHT” and “AUDIO SELECT” keys.
The self-diagnostic function is activated.
3. Select the main menu “13. FACTORY PRESET”.
4. Select the “PRESET RSRV”.
5. Turn off the power of this unit and disconnect the power cable from the AC outlet.

SW-P201 DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURES
Removal of Front Grille
The front grille is fixed to the cabinet with dowels at 6 locations.  * As a screwdriver (for slotted head screw) is used for removal, use special care not to cause damage to the cabinet.
Using the screwdriver inserted in the gap between the front grille and the cabinet (bottom side first), push up the front grille.
Remove the front grille by lifting it up.  When installing the Front Grille, apply quick-drying bond to the dowels and then fit them into dowel holes for secure installation. (The Front Grille will come off easily if its dowels are fitted into dowel holes only.)
Removal of Rear Panel
Remove 14 screws.   Arrow marks ( => ) are printed to identify the screws to be removed.  When assembling the Rear Panel, check to ensure that the packing is not damaged so as to prevent air leakage from occurring.

USB PORT OPERATION CHECK
The YST-MS35D has a USB port. This USB port operation is checked be necessary whether or not normal state.
Installing and verifying the YST-MS35D speaker device drivers
Follow these steps to install the Yamaha YST-MS35D speaker device drivers in your Windows 98 system using the included CD-ROM, and verify that Windows 98 recognizes the installed device drivers and that CD audio, sound generated while using software, and system sounds from the personal computer will be output via the USB port.

System requirements
For digital audio streaming using a USB connection:
OS: Microsoft Windows 98
CPU: 200 MHz or faster Intel Pentium MMX processor or equivalent
HDD: At least 10 MB available space
CD-ROM drive for driver installation
USB port compatible with USB standards ver 1.0
Installing the speaker device drivers
* Do not connect the PC and the subwoofer using the USB cable before installing the YST-MS35D device drivers.
* Make sure that no other CD-ROM is loaded in the CD-ROM drive and that you quit all application programs.
* Have your Windows 98 CD-ROM ready when you install the Yamaha YST-MS35D speaker device drivers. You may need it in some cases.
* The installation procedure may differ from the following instructions depending on the system environment. Follow the instructions that appear in the dialogue box.
1 Connect the YST-MS35D speakers and connect the AC adapter to the AC receptacle. At this time, do not connect the subwoofer to the computer using the USB cable.
2 Turn on your PC and start Windows 98.
3 Insert the YAMAHA YST-MS35D CD-ROM into the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.  If the Windows 98 Auto run feature is turned on, the installation start up screen appears automatically.
4 Continue with the installation as prompted.  If the Windows 98 Auto run feature is not turned on, you must start the installation manually, as explained below.
5 Double-click the My Computer icon. The My Computer window opens.
6 Double-click the “Yamaha” CD-ROM icon. The installation start up screen appears.
7 Continue with the installation as prompted.
8 After the installation is completed, connect the sub-woofer to the computer using the USB cable.
Verifying the installation of device drivers
After you have installed the device drivers as explained in the previous section, follow the steps below to verify that Windows 98 recognizes these drivers.
* Select “Start,” then select “Settings --> Control Panel” from the menu.
* Double-click “System” in the control Panel to display the “System Properties” panel, select the “Device Manager” tab, then select “View devices by type.”
* Click the plus sign (+) for “Human Interface Devices,” “Sound, video and game controllers,” and “Universal Serial Bus Controller” in the device list, and check to see if “Human Interface Devices,” “YAMAHA YST-MS35D USB Audio,” and “YAMAHA YST-MS35D USB Composite Device”
Note: If an exclamation point (!), or a question mark (?) appears to the left of the USB device name,
check the following:

* Make sure that you have installed the drivers from the included CD-ROM.
* Check to see if the USB cable is connected securely.
* The AC adapter plug is connected to the AC receptacle.
