- Turn on the player
- Open the disc tray
- Press SETUP
- Press 9, 1, 0, 1, 0 (first digit (9) is for multi-region)
- Press STEP, SHUFFLE, NEXT
- Close disc tray
Akai DVD-200BL
No disc should be
inserted
- Press OPEN/CLOSE on the remote
- Press SETUP
- Press 1, 3, 6, 9
- Press LEFT, LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT
- Select region (0 = multi-region)
Turn on the player
(without a disc inserted)
- Press SETUP
- Press STOP
- Press 5, 7, 0, 0
- Press STOP
- Enter region (0 = multi-region)
- Press SETUP
- Open the disc tray
- Press 1, 0, 3, 0, 0
- 0 is displayed
- Turn the player off
- Open the disc tray
- Press 8, 1, 3, 2, 8
- Select region using ENTER (9 = multi-region)
- Press STOP
- Open the disc tray
- Press 8, 5, 6, 1
- A menu should appear
- Open the disc tray
- Press SETUP
- Press SHUFFLE, STEP, NEXT
- Go to the Debug settings. The current RC is shown there.
- Close disc tray.
- Insert foreign DVD
- Wait for "Check Region Code"
- Press DISPLAY, TOP MENU, PLAY quickly.
- Open the disc tray
- Press 3, 8, 3, 8
- Select region (9 = multi-region)
- Turn on the player
- Open the disc tray
- Enter 2120090
- Turn the player off (OFF-Mode)
- Press DIMMER and SKIP BACK simultaneously
- Hold them and press POWER ON
- Four lines are displayed
- Enter '1999'
- 'A-0000 D-04' is displayed
- Enter: '00' for RC 0 (Display: A-0000 D-00) (region free), '01' for RC 1 (Display: A-0000 D-01), '02' for RC 2 (Display: A-0000 D-02)
- Press ENTER
- Turn the player of ('Power ON/OFF')
DVR-2100SS
- Turn on the player
- Open the disc tray
- Press 3, 3, 0, 8, 0
- "XXXX" is displayed.
- Enter the region (0 = multi-region)
- Close the disc tray
- Turn it off.
- Insert any disc
- Press CLEAR, 2, 5, 8, CLEAR
- The service menu will then come up.
- Enter the region you want (0 = multi-region)
- Turn on the player (without a disc inserted)
- Press STOP
- Press 1, 9, 9, 9
- Current region is displayed
- Select "Region Code"
- Press ENTER
- Select region using UP/DOWN ("Free" = multi-region)
- Press ENTER
- Press SETUP
- Turn on the player (without disc inserted)
- Press 8, 9, 2, 6, X (X = region; 0 = multi-region)
- Press and hold EJECT and A-B while the player is off
- Turn it on, display says "A:00 D:12"
- Change digit after "A" to 05 with PLAY and STOP
- Change digit after "D" with SKIP keys to "00" (this is the region)
- Save with PAUSE
- Turn the player off and on.
- Turn the player off
- Press and hold FAST FORWARD and STOP and the black button
- Turn on the player (with POWER)
- When the AKAI logo is shown, release FAST FORWARD and STOP but keep holding the black button. A list, separateed into columns, appears.
- Press ENTER
- Press CURSOR RIGHT
- Change it to '00' for region free
- Press ENTER
- Press POWER to turn the player off
- Release the black button
- Turn on the player.
- Press ON/OFF
- Press OPEN/CLOSE
- Press SETUP
- Go into "PERFERENCE" at Setup Menu
- Scroll down to the "Country/Region Code" and choose the country.
- Open the disc tray
- Press 8, 4, 2, 1
- A menu should appear. (9 = multi-region)
- Turn on the player
- Press SETUP on the remote
- Press 4, 9, 5, 4, 0
- Go to "Version"
- Select region using LEFT/RIGHT (0 = code free)
- Open tray
- Press 9, 7, 3, 5
- Select region 0
- Press ENTER
- Leave the menu.
- Open the disc tray
- Press 7, 7, 3, 9
- Press 0
- Close the disc tray.
