However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

BUSH RF6694D
  • Go to Bush TV main menu.
  • Press simultaneously MUTE and INFO button.
  • Change and select parameter press colored button To save  settings press ok
  • Press menu to exit from service mode
BUSH ITV2112
  • Open remote control cover, connect pin 10 and 17 of Samsung IC.
  • Use colored button to select and volume to change value settings.
  • To store press OK.
  • To Exit press ‘0’ key.
BUSH WS66-7673
  • Go to main menu and input [4 7 2 5]
  • Use colored button to select and change settings.
  • To save settings press OK.
  • To exit from service menu press Menu button.
BRANDT TX807 _ ITC008
  • TV in standby mode.
  • Shut off TV using main switch button / no electric activity in your television.
  • Next press [TXT] button and hold it.
  • Switch ON your television using main switch.
  • Press program + or program - to select and volume + or volume - to change the data value value.
  • To save and exit press power button on remote control.

  • TV in standby mode.
  • Shut off TV with main switch.
  • Press VT button on remote control and hold the key.
  • Switch on TV with main switch.
  • Release VT button and press VT buton again.
  • Service menu mode load in 0.1 seconds.
  • To change and select press program and volume button on remote control.
  • To save and exit press power button on remote control

  • Press Menu and press following key [4, 7, 2, 5.]
  • Factory mode will load in 0.1 second.
  • Use Red, Green, Blue, Yellow button to select and change.
  • To save settings press Ok button.
  • To exit from factory mode press MENU button.

  • Select menu and enter key 9, 3, 0 1
  • To select parameter press program up or program down.
  • To change the data value press volume up to increase and volume down to decrease.
  • Press Power button on the remote control to save and exit.

  • Factory mode button is hidden button located below STOP button, left to  cancel button.
  • Press Red button go to next menu
  • Press program up and down to select item.
  • Press volume up and down to change value settings. 
  • To Save and exit press P.P.

  • TV ON Press TV on remote control and short the pin service mode plugged p700 on PCB14.

Bang & Olufsen TV model LX4500, LX5500, LX5000, and LX6000

  • Power ON the TV.
  • Press TV on remote control and short the pin service mode plugged p700 on PCB14.
  • Select press p+/p- button and change value pres v+/v- button.
  • Save change and exit press STOP button on remote control.
CHANGHONG 21BM91

  • To enter the DESIGN/SERVICE mode Set the volume to no sound.
  • Then press and hold the MUTE button on the remote control, and press the MENU button on the TV to enter the factory mode.
  • Red “S” is displayed on the upper center of the screen indicating that the TV is in service mode.
  • To exit from the S mode, turn off the TV set by the POWER button on the remote control. 
CROWN CM-2007

  • Open the remote, removing the top cover.
  • Use the keys that have no access External and under "previous channel" and "Sound." Canal + / - Select the item with the VOL + / - adjusts its value.

  • Press "Menu" button.
  • Enter digits [4 => 7 => 2 => 5] by the remote control.
  • Factory mode screen will be displayed.
  •  Use "Red / Green / Blue and Yellow" buttons  to select and change items.
  • To "Exit" Service mode, press "Menu" button.
BRANDT TX 807 & ITC 008
  1. Set the TV to 'Standby' Mode & Switch Off' the set. {power ON the set by its front panel power switch, and press power button on the remote control to make the set to standby, and then Switch it OFF}
  2. Press and Hold "TXT" button on the remote control, and Switch ON the TV by its main Power Switch.
  3. Set will come back ON with 'Service Mode' option.
  4. To call an item to adjust, press 'Prog + / Prog -" buttons on the remote control.
  5. To adjust the data value to selected item, use "Vol + / Vol -" buttons on the remote control.
  6. To "Exit" service mode, press "Power" button on the remote control.
