REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!
Today, the West is headed for the abyss. For the ultimate fate of our disposable society is for that society itself to be disposed of. And this will happen sooner, rather than later.

LG HX806CM Blu-ray HOME CINEMA SYSTEM Troubleshooting – Reset – Circuit Diagram

SMPS & POWER AMPLIFIER SCHEMATIC – SA RESET – TROUBLESHOOTING – LG  HX806CM Blu-ray Disc HOME CINEMA SYSTEM
TROUBLESHOOTING
When you turn on your set, it will display “PLEASE WAIT” on front panel, and it will not boot-up normally.  Two possibilities.
[1] IC501 (MPEG IC).
Replace IC501 on MAIN board.
How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Please Check 1.15 V / 1.5 V / 3.3 V.  Check RESET_8550 (at the point of C586).
2) If it doesn’t work even though 1.15 V / 1.5 V / 3.3 V power and RESET_8550 are no problem, IC501 MT8555D could have problem.
3) If RESET_8550 isn’t high (3.3 V), you may need to replace IC101.
4) After changing it, if the set is still no booting, check MAIN board.
 [2] MAIN Board
Replace MAIN board.
How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Please remove IC501 and IC601 ~ IC603, and then check the Impedance between each signal (DATA, ADDRESS, and so on.)
2) If there is some Impedance (a few ohm or infinite ohm) especially power source Trace, PCB via might be broken. You’d better change MAIN board.
When you connect AccuWeahter, You-tube or Picasa through the wired LAN, the “no connection” message appears.
JK801 (ETHERNET JACK)
Replace JK801 on MAIN board.
How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Check you internet connection. Make sure it connect properly to modem or router.
2) If internet connection OK, please check the Ethernet Jack (JK801).
3) If there is soldering problem, please re-soldering pin JK801.
4) If after re-soldering problem still occurs, replace JK801.
5) If problem still occurs after change JK801. check MT8555D IC (IC501).
BAD HDMI VIDEO / AUDIO OUTPUT
When unit is connected to HDMI TV using HDMI cable, picture shows bad color, no output or mixed color on the screen. But component output is OK.
JK802 (HDMI JACK)
Replace JK802 (HDMI Jack).
How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Check JK802 pin soldering.
2) If there is short soldering on pin JK802, re-soldering pin JK802.
3) If problem still occurs, check HDMI data on RN801 and RN802 :
> If all data OK, Replace JK802.
> If data NG, Replace IC501.
NO SPEAKER OUTPUT
When unit is connected to Speaker using speaker cable, no speaker output.
AMP BOARD
Replace AMP board.
 How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Check Voltage at ACN602.
> If 30 V,12 V voltage doesn’t come out, re-soldering in ACN602.
2) Check Voltage at ACN601 pin12, 13.
> if 3.3 V voltage doesn’t come out, check IC303 in MAIN PCB.
3) Check the AMP_SD signal of pin16 at ACN601.
> If this pin is low, replace AIC701 or AIC702 or AIC703.
4) If problem still occurs, change AMP board.
HOW TO USE THE SA RESET FUNCTION
In order to insert the new SA adjustment values, it need clearing SA initial values of the flash memory.
REQUIRED SA RESET
* After changing Traverse.
* After changing Main Board Assembly.
* After changing Main Board Flash IC.
SA RESET PROCEDURE
Power on the set (then, mode is in home menu ).
Press Setup.
Under DISPLAY highlighted condition, press ‘5’ ->
1’ > ‘7’ > ‘7’ > ‘7’ > ‘7’ > ‘7’ on the remote controller to display special mode. Move to the SA / IOP Reset and click.
Insert BD-ROM SL Disc. (Tray is opened automatically.)
If the disc is inserted, you will see “Wait”.
If SA Adjustment is finished, tray is opened automatically.
Press stop key twice to escape this special mode.
"ALL BD DISC" READING ERROR
> All the Blu-ray disc is not operated, but DVD and CD are operated normally.
> If the LDO for APC of BD laser diode is abnormal, BD doesn't work.
> If the LD current control is abnormal, BD doesn't work.
Component
1) MD (Traverse Assembly)
2) IC701 – Adjustable LDO
How to troubleshoot (Countermeasure)
1) Check MD (Traverse, pick-up) first of all.
2) Check input / output voltage of LDO IC701 – (12 V, 9 V)
3) If output voltage is abnormal, check the periphery of IC701 and replace it.
4) Check the BD LD Control input / output.  If input signal (VRDC3O) is OK, but no output (BD_LD), check the TR Q702, Q706.
