SOFTWARE UPDATE AND TROUBLESHOOTING
RESET THE PLAYER
When the wallpaper shows up, hold down the
“POWER” key to do the resetting. (Keep the “POWER” key depressed until the
RESET message appears on the LED. (About 10 seconds))
UPGRADING THE SOFTWARE VERSION
1. With a CD
1. Write the updated software on a CD to prepare the version-upgrading CD.
2. Connect the set to the monitor with an HDMI cable. (Keep the HDMI cable connected until the version-upgrading has been completed.)
3. Using the “POWER” key (on the set itself or on the remote controller), turn on the power.
* Do not turn on the power with the “EJECT” key.
4. Press the “EJECT” key to open the tray. Place the upgrading CD on the tray and press the “EJECT” key again to close the tray.
5. The tray is closed and the power turns off itself.
6. The power turns on itself and the upgrading gets started.
LCD display: S-UP blinking > S-UP kept on
Mode display: Blue LED blinking > Blue LED turns off
Monitor screen: Upgrading progress displayed
7. When the software has been 100% overwritten, the tray opens itself and the power turns off itself.
8. Take the CD out of the tray and press the “POWER” key to turn on the power again.

10.Press the “POWER” key again to turn on the power.
11.When the wallpaper shows up again, move from [Settings] to [Version] to make sure the software is upgraded.
12.When the upgrading has been successfully made, close the [Version] confirm screen and turn off the power. If it has failed, take the procedure over again from Step 3 above.

2.With a USB memory
1. Write the updated software on a USB memory to prepare the version-upgrading USB memory.
2. Connect the set to the monitor with an HDMI cable. (Keep the HDMI cable connected until the version-upgrading has been completed.)
3. Using the “POWER” key (on the set itself or on the remote controller), turn on the power.
* Do not turn on the power with the “EJECT” key.
4. Insert the upgrading USB memory into the USB port.
5. When the USB memory has been recognized (the “x” mark on the USB icon disappears and the USB recognition on-screen display appears), move from [Settings], [Software Update Settings], [Manual Update] to [USB Memory], and then press the “ENTER” or “ ” key.
6. Press “OK” on the USB recognition confirm screen.
7. The version confirm screen appears. Select “YES”.
8. The power supply caution shows up. Press “OK”.
9. The power turns on itself and the upgrading gets started.

KEY LOCK FUNCTION
You can set the keylock to prevent accidental operations. This function allows TVs compatible with AQUOS LINK to also perform a Key Lock on the player. Press and hold (Lock) for more than 3 seconds.
# Each time you perform this operation, the function is activated or deactivated.
# If you try to operate the Player while the keylock function is set, "Hold" blinks on the front display panel to indicate that the keylock function is set.
You can set the keylock to prevent accidental operations. This function allows TVs compatible with AQUOS LINK to also perform a Key Lock on the player. Press and hold (Lock) for more than 3 seconds.

Main PWB failure to get started.
CHECK POINTS
Are there 12V inputs at pins 14, 15 of SC9001?
> Check the power unit and connector.
Is there AT5V output at TL9019? > Check
IC9004 (DC-DC converter for AT5V) and its peripheral circuits.
Are there 3.3V output signals coming from pin 15
(MAIN_P-CON) of IC2501 (front microprocessor)? > Is there 3.3V input signal coming from pin 40
(reset) of IC2501 (front microprocessor)?
>Check IC2502 (reset IC) and its peripheral parts.
Is there 16MHz oscillation waveform at pins 44
and 45 (clock) of IC2501 (front microprocessor)? > Check FL2501 (ceramic
oscillator) and its peripheral parts.
Check the power of IC2501 (front micro
processor), grounding and their peripheral circuits.
Is there D1.1V (PC) output at TL9016? > Check
IC9001 (1.1V DC-DC converter) and its peripheral circuits.
Is there D1.8V (PC) output at TL9018? > Check
IC9003 (1.8V DC-DC converter) and its peripheral circuits.
Is there D3.3V (PC) output at TL9017? > Check
IC9002 (3.3V DC-DC converter) and its peripheral circuits.
Is there 3.3V input at AF2 (reset) of IC7201
(system LSI)? > Is there 3.3V output signal coming from pin 20 (COLD_RESET)
of IC2501 (front microprocessor)? > Check R7239, IC2501 (front
microprocessor) and their peripheral circuits. >Check the wiring and
soldering conditions along the COLD_RESET line.
Is there an input of about 1.6V along the Y18
(D1CKERSTB) and N20 (D0CKERSTB) lines of IC7201 (system LSI)? > Check the
soldering condition of R7211, R7280, R7212 and R7281.
Is there 48MHz oscillation waveform at X7201
(crystal oscillator)? > Check the A2 and A3 (XO/XI) terminals of IC7201
(system LSI) and their peripheral parts.
Are the signals as specified along the AA6
(FRONT_RXD), AC6 (FRONT_TXD and AE6 (FL_BUSY) lines of IC7201 (system LSI)?
> Check the relevant terminal of IC7201
(front microprocessor) pins 21 (FRONT_TXD), 22 (FRONT_RXD) and 37 (FL_BUSY) of IC2501 (front microprocessor). Check IC8502 (NAND_FLASH), IC7801- 4 (DDR2 MEMORY) and their peripheral circuits.

Is the soldering of the terminals of SC4001
(HDMI connector) as specified? >
Correct the SC4001 soldering or replace SC4001 itself.
Is the voltage of over 2V applied at C14
(HDMI_HPD) of IC7201 (system LSI)? > Check Q4003 (level shift circuit) and
it peripheral circuits.
Is there input signal of over 2V at pin 28
(F_HDMI_HPD) of IC2501 (front micro processor)? > Check Q4003, Q4004 (level shift circuit) and
their peripheral circuits.
Are there serial signals at F13 (HDMI_SCL) and
E13(HDMI_SDA) of IC7201 (system LSI) as well as pins 1 (FR_HDMI_SCL) and 2
(FR_HDMI_SDA) of IC2501 (front microprocessor)? > Check Q4001, Q4002 (level
shift circuit) and their peripheral circuits.
Are there data and clock signals at pins 1, 3,
4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 of SC4001 (HDMI connector)? > Is there 5V input at pin
18 of SC4001 (HDMI connector)? > Check IC4001 (5V SW) and its peripheral
circuits.
Check A10 (HDMI_TX2N), B10 (HDMI_TX2P), A11
(HDMI_TX1N), B11 (HDMI_TX1P), A12 (HDMI_TX0N), B12 (HDMI_TX0P), A13
(HDMI_TXCN), B13 (HDMI_TXCP) of IC7201 (system LSI) and its peripheral
circuits.
Is the soldering of all the terminals of SC4001
as specified? > Correct the soldering or replace a defective connector.
Is there the H signal (3.3V) at TL4023 and pin 3
of Q4003:? > Check the circuit between pin 19 of SC4001 and Q4003.
Is there the H signal (3.3V) at the collector of
Q4004? > Check Q4004 and its peripheral circuits.
Are there pulse signals at the Drain and Source
terminals of Q4001 and Q4002? > Check pins 15 and 16 of SC4001. Check Q4001,
Q4002 and their peripheral circuits.
Are there pulse signals at the Drain and Source
terminals of Q4010 and Q4011? > Check Q4001, Q4002 and their peripheral
circuits. Check the ABBY1.2V and ABBY3.3V power supplies.
Are there clock and data signals at pins 1, 3,
4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 of SC4001? > Check pins 100 thru 107 and pins 2 thru 9
of IC4004 Check R4019 thru R4026.
Is there 5V signal at pin 18 of SC4001? >
Check pins 1 and 5 of IC4001.
No function of USB port at the back.
CHECK POINTS
Does the same trouble remain even by replacing
the USB memory? > Check the USB
memory.
Is there 5V input at pin 7 of J7001 (USB/ LAN
connector)? >Are there 5V power at pin 2 and 3.3V input signal at pin 3,
both of IC7002 (high-side switch)? > Check Q9012 (DRIVE_5V switch), E9 (USB_PPPON2)
of IC7201 (system LSI) and their peripheral circuits. >Check the soldering
condition of IC7002 (high-side switch) or replace IC7002 itself.
With the USB memory inserted, are there signals
at pins 8 (D-) and 9 (D+) of J7001 (USB/LAN connector)? > Check L7001 and A8
(USB_DM2) and B8 (USB_DP2) of IC7201 (system LSI) and their peripheral circuits.
NO LED DISPLAY
CHECK POINTS
Are there SEG and COM input signals at D1203?
> Check the soldering condition of
D1203. Replace as required.
Are signals and power applied at pins 5 (5V), 3
(STB), 2 (CLK) and 1 (DIO) of IC1201 (LED driver)? > Check IC1201 and its
peripheral circuits. Replace as required.
Are there output signals at pins 3 (DISP_SCLK),
4 (DISP_DI/O) and 7 (DISP_STB) of IC2501 (front microprocessor)? > Check
SC1201, SC902 FFC harness and CN901, SC9001. Replace as required.
Check R2501, R2502, R2505 and IC2501 as well as
their peripheral circuits. Replace as required.
