REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General recommendations for repairing TV LCD
Repair of the SONY KDL-32P3000 TV is advisable to start with an external inspection of all its constituent elements, both internal electronic components and external. Inspection is also subject to body elements, control buttons, screen, connectors and cords. Visible damage to elements can sometimes suggest further directions for finding a defect before starting the necessary measurements. Ring cracks in the soldering of the leads of the heating elements, swollen electrolytic capacitors, a charred paint layer on the resistors - all this for the repairman can be a hint in the assumptions about the causes and consequences of the malfunction.
If the power supply module GS2 A-1276-472-A 1-874-218-11 (1-728-835-11) fails, the external manifestations may be different, for example, the SONY KDL-32P3000 does not turn on at all and there is no indication of control light bulbs on the front. If the mains fuse is broken in the power supply, in most cases a breakdown of the power switch 2SK3568, 2SK3568 is detected, which can be integrated with the PWM controller, or a separate field-effect transistor can be used. The rectifier bridge diodes and the electrolytic capacitor of the mains rectifier filter should also be checked.
It should be remembered that the N-FET keys used in flyback converters rarely fail for no reason that must be sought by checking other elements of the circuit. Often the breakdown is caused by malfunctions of electrolytic capacitors or semiconductor elements in the primary circuit, or by a break in the resistors in the stabilization circuits. The PWM controller chip MCZ3001DB, MIP2H2, MM1530ATT, TDA8932BT-N2 TDA8933 can also cause a breakdown of the power switch of the converter.
If an active Power Factor Corrector (PFC) is used in the power module circuitry, it is sometimes more difficult to troubleshoot. Knowledge, experience, intuition and skills in such cases have a great advantage for a successful repair.
If the SONY KDL-32P3000 does not have an image, but there is sound, there is a possibility of a malfunction of the backlight or power converter. You should also make sure that the electrolytic capacitors of the secondary rectifiers of the common power supply are working.
Often, attempts to repair the inverter LT320SLS12 rev: 0 LT320SLS12 REV: 03 are complicated by the fact that the diagnosis of the malfunction is complicated by the operation of its protection, which is designed to turn off the inverter in emergency conditions - when the lamps are depressurized, breaks or short circuits in high-voltage connections and other emergency situations. Lock protection to localize the defect is popular among repairmen.
When diagnosing with the protection off, special precautions must be taken, because there is a risk of failure of the power elements of the inverter. After diagnosis, it is imperative to restore the protection circuits for the inverter to operate normally.
Motherboard B1 1-874-223-12 = 1-874-223-11 must be checked if there is no reaction to the remote control and function buttons, the standby indicator blinks or lights up constantly. In such cases, if the power supply circuits of the microcircuits are working, a software update may be necessary. If it is not possible to replace the MB board (SSB), you need to check the health of its elements - TDA9973AHL, NEC D61123F1, CXD9922R, NJM3414AV, TDA9886TS / V4,118, LA5795T-TLM-E, PQ070XZ01ZPH. Defective components should be replaced.
Once again, we remind TV users: you should not make attempts to repair it yourself without the appropriate knowledge, experience and the necessary qualifications! Trust the repair only to professionals with sufficient experience in the field of electronic equipment repair.
