These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

SERVICE MODE DISASSEMBLING AND POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT 

BT ADAPTER related warning
1.The Bluetooth ADAPTER indicator blinks slowly. Err 5 displays on the display.
Power consumption by Bluetooth ADAPTER is too high to supply the power. Reconnect the Bluetooth ADAPTER.
2. The Bluetooth ADAPTER indicator blinks. Bt- A Displays on the display.
3. The Bluetooth ADAPTER indicator blinks slowly. No bt displays on the display
When cannot detect a device at BT function
SERVICE MODE
SERVICE TEST MODE
1. Conditions for Service Test Mode
# During Service Test mode, emergency shutdown will not be performed even if failure as shown below occurs (it is ignored).
# During Normal mode, even after emergency shutdown caused by detection of failure shown below, the unit can be turned on immediately, without waiting 1 minute after shutdown.
2. How to Enter Test Mode
# Press the "ESC" key then "+10" key of Service Remote Control unit (GGF1381). The unit is turned on in Test mode.
# The initial FUNCTION setting is iPod.
# (XW-NAS3 model) Depending on the conditions of the last power off before entering the Test mode, the POWER ON LED flashes in the pattern shown below in 4-second periods.
Note: In the following patterns, a high state denotes lit and a low state denotes unlit.
# (XW-NAS5 model) After entering the Test mode, the 7-segment LEDs are lit as shown below, depending on the conditions of the last power off before entering the Test mode.
[After normal power-off]
The LED is lit then unlit for 2 seconds.
[After shutdown caused by detection of an abnormally high temperature in the XOTW D-AMP] Error 2
After the LED flashes twice at intervals of 0.25 sec, it goes dark.
[After shutdown caused by detection of excess current in the SHUTDOWN D-AMP] Error 3
After the LED flashes 3 times at intervals of 0.25 sec, it goes dark.
[After shutdown caused by failure in the EEPROM] Error 6
After the LED flashes 6 times at intervals of 0.25 sec, it goes dark.
Notes:
# To exit Test mode, turn the unit off or unplug the AC power cord.
# When exiting Test mode, only the RAMs related with the above errors will be initialized.
(The RAMs that can be accessed by a user for settings will not be initialized.)
Operation during Test mode
Basically, the unit operates in the same way as in Normal mode.
Description of errors
# Errors are classified into the following types and are indicated by error indications when the unit is turned on.
[After a power error is detected] Error 1
# A power error was detected.
1. The voltage at the SW9V, SW5V, SW3.3V, or EV3.3V power supply unit exceeds the specified value because of an error.
2. The line to XDC_PRO Pin No.34 in the system control computer is short-circuited with ground or broken.
[After shutdown caused by detection of abnormally high temperature in the XOTW D-AMP] Error 2
# If “Err 2” is not displayed when the unit is turned on in Normal mode next time, this does not constitute an error. (A temporary temperature rise is suspected. Use the unit at a lower volume.)
# If “Err 2” is displayed again, the following causes are suspected:
1. The digital amp IC in the NSA DAMP Assy is in failure.
2. The XOTW line somewhere between the digital amp IC and the system control computer is short-circuited with ground or broken.
[After shutdown caused by detection of excess current in the XSHUTDOWN PCONFIG D-AMP] Error 3
# Disconnect the speakers then turn on the unit again. If the error indication persists, the following causes are suspected:
1. The digital amp IC in the NSA DAMP Assy is in failure. (DC is generated between + and – of the AMP BTL output.
2. An error was generated in a circuit located on the way to the XSHUTDOWN PCONFIG circuit.
3. Dirt may be attached around the AMP outputs.
[After shutdown caused by failure in the EEPROM] Error 6
1. The communication line to the EEPROM is broken or short-circuited.
2. The EEPROM (IC) is defective.
DISASSEMBLING
Bottom Assy
(1) Remove the four rubber cushions.
(2) Remove the four screws. (BPZ40P100FNI)
(3) Remove the left foot and right foot.
(4) Remove the bottom Assy.

Top Panel Section
Front grill Assy
(1) Remove it while expanding front grill Assy in right and left.

NSA DISPLAY Assy
(1) Disconnect the flexible cable.
(2) Remove the two screws. (VPZ30P100FTB)
(3) Remove the two timer assemblies.
(4) Remove the six screws. (BPZ30P080FTB)
(5) Remove the NSA DISPLAY Assy.
(4) Remove the six screws. (BPZ30P080FTB)
(5) Remove the NSA DISPLAY Assy.

Top panel section
(1) Remove the two screws. (BPZ30P120FTB)
(2) Remove the two screws. (BPZ30P080FTB)
(3) Remove the 10 screws. (BPZ40P100FNI)
(4) Remove the six screws. (BBZ30P100FTC
(5) Remove the top panel section.
(6) Remove the one screw. (BBZ30P060FNI)
(7) Disconnect the two flexible cables.
(8) Remove the five screws. (BPZ30P080FTB)
(9) Remove the iPod cover.
