These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.

  • Set the volume to no sound.
  • Then press and hold the MUTE button on the remote control, and the MENU button on the TV simultaneously to enter the factory mode.
  • In this case, red “S” is displayed on the upper center of the screen.
  • To exit from the S mode, turn off the TV set by the POWER button on the remote control.
  • Caution: The user service mode adjustment can be changed only when service personnel adjust the whole set data during servicing.
  • As the control data have dramatic effects on functions and performance of the TV, service personnel should not tell user how to enter the SERVICE mode to avoid improper data settings.

  • Decrease volume to no sound.
  • Press the mute on remote control and menu button on TV panel at same time.
  • "S" appears on the screen indicating that the TV is in service mode.
  • To change and edit factory mode using pro+/- and vol +/-.
  • Save and exit settings press power button on remote control.
COMET PT92J
  • Press simultaneously Volume down button on TV Panel and SUBPAGE button on remote control.
  • Press Program up and down to select and change value press volume button (+/-)
  • To save and exit press TV button on remote control.

  • Decrease volume to no sound, press and hold mute on remote control.
  • Press Menu key on TV panel until menu and D sign appears.
  • Use colored key to select and store settings.

  • On the TV motherboard press switch 702.
  • To change and edit data value press Volume key and Program key.
CROWN 4K2822T
  • Open the TV remote control.
  • Entering service button located below stop button.
  • Select press program +/-  to select an item to adjust.
  • To change the data value press volume +/-.
  • Save settings and exit press P.P button.

  • Open the remote, removing the top cover.
  • Use the keys that have no access External and under "previous channel" and "Sound."
  • Press channel + / - Select an item to adjust.
  • Press the VOL + / - to adjust its value.

  • To change the setting press the volume key.
