These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

SERVICE MODE

Press “Menu”, “1”, “2”, “4”, 7” and “5” keys on a remote.

Software version upgrading.
USB DOWNLOAD
1) Press “Menu” Key and select “OK” key after focusing “SETUP” item
2) Press Numeric Keys like following sequences : 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 – 5
3) Factory menu will be displayed
4) press “OK” key after focusing “USB Check” item, then “USB Check” item value will be changed to “TRUE”
5) Copy SW upgrade image “xxxxxx.hdf” to an USB memory stick.
Model Name and  Upgrade image file name
32/42LE5700 à LE5700.hdf
32/37/42/47LE5400 à LE5400.hdf
32/42LE5750 à LE5750.hdf

6) Connects USB memory stick to the side jack(USB IN) of TV.
7) Turn Off and On TV with using AC-Power.
8) After Turning on TV, Software upgrade will be done automatically.
9) After upgrading SW, turn off TV and wait 20 second
10) Turn on TV, Check SW version in Diagnostics of SETUP. Function Check 1) Check display and sound. 2) Check Input and Signal items.(cf. work instructions) a) TV & DTV b) AV(SCART, CVBS) c) COMPONENT(480i) d) RGB(PC : 1024 x 768 @60Hz) e) HDMI f) PC Audio In 3) Display and Sound Check is executed by Remote control. EDID DOWNLOAD
Panel Setting
a) You should change the panel size by going to the Factory Mode, press “Menu”, “1”, “2”, “4”, 7” and “5” keys on a remote.
b) You have to select 32” or 37”, 42”, 47” panel in Factory mode.

a) Why need Vcom adjustment?# The Vcom (Common Voltage) is a Reference Voltage of Liquid Crystal Driving.à Liquid Crystal need for Polarity Change with every frame.
b) Adjust sequence
# You should change the panel size by going to the Factory Mode, press “Menu”, “1”, “2”, “4”, 7” and “5” keys on a remote.
# You have to select “Miscellaneous” in Factory mode.
# Enter “ V-Com” by pushing “OK” key.

As pushing the right or the left key on the remote control, and find the V-COM value which is no or minimized the Flicker.
(If there is no flicker at default value, Press the exit key and finish the VCOM adjustment.)
