These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

TROUBLESHOOTING:  APPLICABLE TO - UN32C5000QF - UN32C4000PD - UN37C5000QF - UN40C5000QF - UN46C5000QF - UN37C5000QR - UN40C5000QR - UN46C5000QR
UN32C4000PXNO POWER [A TYPE]

  • The LEDs on the front panel do not work when connecting the power cord.
  • The SMPS relay does not work when connecting the power cord.
  • The units appear to be dead.

The IP relay or the LEDs on the front panel does not work when connecting the power cord if the cables are improperly connected or the Main Board or SMPS is not functioning. In this case, check the following:
  1. Check the internal cable connection status inside the unit.
  2. Check the fuses of each part.   -Check the output voltage of SMPS.
  3. Replace the Main Board.

  • Audio is normal but no picture is displayed on the screen.


  1. Check the PC source.
  2. Check the Arsenal, Check the Chelsea.
  3. This may happen when the LVDS cable connecting the Main Board and the Panel is disconnected.

NO VIDEO [HDMI 1,2,3,4 - DIGITAL SIGNAL [A-TYPE]

  • Audio is normal but no picture is displayed on the screen.


  1. Check the HDMI source.
  2. Check the HDMI switch, Check the Chelsea.
  3. This may happen when the LVDS cable connecting the Main Board and the Panel is disconnected.

NO VIDEO [TUNER-CVBS] [A-TYPE]

  • Audio is normal but no picture is displayed on the screen.


  1. Check the Tuner CVBS source.
  2. Check the Tuner, Check the Chelsea.
  3. This may happen when the LVDS cable connecting the Main Board and the Panel is disconnected.
LOCATION [MAIN-BOTTOM]
NO VIDEO _ TUNER DTV [A-TYPE]

  • Audio is normal but no picture is displayed on the screen.


  1. Check the DTV source.
  2. Check the Tuner, Check the Chelsea.
  3. This may happen when the LVDS cable connecting the Main Board and the Panel is disconnected.
