These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

  • Two modes: S and D to enter the mode S, press VOL-on the TV to 0, keep pressed, and press DISPLAY on the C /R.
  • To enter the mode D, as once inside S, select the VP60, must be set: 00, then press [VOL-] on the TV without release, press DISPLAY on the C / R. for change channels or other user setting.
  • To exit the service mode, press DISPLAY

  • Use the remote control of the user.
  • To enter the mode SERVICE MENU key pressed to have the TV and press the 2 key on the remote.
  • To adjust the fine tuning of a channel, having pressed the MENU button on the TV and press the key MENU on the remote.

  • To enter the service mode with recall to the remote and Vol (-) in front of the TV pressed simultaneously, then repeat the operation to switch into different categories: B / W, Adjust and Setup.

  • Once this is done and before within three seconds, press the remote's memory.
  • Then press on the remote Sound and choosing the option to change.
  • Make the necessary changes with the [VOL + and VOL -]

  • Hold down the MENU button on the TV and press the 2 button on the remote control.
  • To adjust the fine tuning, press and hold MENU button on the TV and press the MENU on the C / R.

  • With the TV on, press M (memory) in the TV within two seconds, immediately
  • Press MEMORY on the C / Remote, then SOUND to select the item.
  • With VOL [+ / - ] to adjust settings.
OR
  • Hold the MENU button down while connecting the TV to the mains.
  • Use CH [+ / -] to scroll and VOL [+ / -] to adjust the values.
  • To exit and save changes: MENU
OR
  • Turn on the TV. Press TV's memory for a couple of seconds.
  • Within three seconds, press the remote's memory.
  • Then press on the remote Sound and choosing the option to change.
  • Make the necessary changes with the [VOL + and VOL -]
