XFINITY [COMCAST] _ REMOTE CONTROL _ SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
PROGRAMMING TV CONTROL The remote contains a universal TV library and can be programmed to operate the Power and Volume controls of your TV.
- Turn on the TV you want to control.
- Press and hold the Delete button until the green light under the Power button blinks twice.
- See Setup Codes for TVs to find the brand name of the TV you want to control. Enter the first five-digit code for your brand of TV. If performed correctly, the green light under the Power button blinks twice. Note: If the green light emits one long blink, repeat steps 2 and 3, entering the same code.
- Point the remote at the TV and press the Power button. If the TV turns off, you have found the correct code. If the TV does not respond, repeat steps 2-4 trying each code listed for your brand of TV.
- Press and hold the Delete button until the green light under the Power button blinks twice.
- See Setup Codes for Audio Devices to find the brand name of the audio device you want to control. Enter the first five-digit code for your brand of audio device. If performed correctly, the green light under the Power button blinks twice. Note: If the green light emits one long blink, repeat steps 2 and 3, entering the same code.
- Point the remote at the audio device and press the Power button. If the audio device turns off you have found the correct code. If the audio device does not respond, repeat steps 2-4, trying each code listed for your brand of audio device. If none of the codes work, see Searching for a Device.
PROGRAMMING AUDIO CONTROL
The remote contains a universal audio
library and can be programmed to operate the Power and Volume controls of your
audio device, such as an amplifier.
- Turn on the audio device you want to control.
- Press and hold the Delete button until the green light under the Power button blinks twice.
- See Setup Codes for Audio Devices to find the brand name of the audio device you want to control. Enter the first five-digit code for your brand of audio device. If performed correctly, the green light under the Power button blinks twice. Note: If the green light emits one long blink, repeat steps 2 and 3, entering the same code.
- Point the remote at the audio device and press the Power button. If the audio device turns off you have found the correct code. If the audio device does not respond, repeat steps 2-4, trying each code listed for your brand of audio device. If none of the codes work, see Searching for a Device Code.
SEARCHING FOR A DEVICE CODE
If the brand of your TV or audio device
is not listed in the code list, try searching for your code.
- Turn on your TV or audio device.
- Press and hold the Delete button until the green light under the Power key blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 1. The green light under the Power button blinks twice.
- Press 1 to search for a TV, or press 3 to search for an audio device.
- While pointing the remote control at the device, press and release Channel + until the device turns off. You may need to press Channel + numerous times. Note: In the search mode, the remote control sends IR codes from its library to the target device.
- Press OK/Select to lock in the code.
If
you have set up the remote control using this procedure, you may need to find
out which five-digit code is operating your TV or audio device. Perform the
following steps after setting up your TV or audio device to find out which
five-digit code operates it.
- Press and hold the Delete button until the green light under the Power key blinks twice.
- Press 9 9 0. The green light under the Power button blinks twice.
- Press 1 to search for a TV, or press 3 to search for an audio device.
- To view the code for the first digit, press 1 once. Wait three seconds and count the number of times the green light blinks (e.g., three blinks =3) and write down the number in the TV Code or Audio Code. Note: If a code digit is “0”, the green light under the Power button does not blink.
