If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.
These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.
While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

General repair guidelines for TV LCD
It is advisable to start any repair and diagnostics of the SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 TV with a careful external examination of internal and external elements, including case parts, a display, buttons, and cables. Often, based on certain external signs, it is possible to draw some conclusions about the reasons for the failure of certain circuit elements even before the necessary measurements are made, which will determine the further algorithm for troubleshooting and localizing the defect. Elements with visible damage, for example, capacitors swelled up after boiling the electrolyte, charred resistors in certain nodes of the circuit, as well as ring cracks in solders will help the master to guess the causes and possible consequences of the malfunction.
If the TV does not turn on, no indicators on its front panel are lit or blinking. Also, if the TV does not respond to the remote control and buttons, it does not make any sounds or any signs of operability when it is turned on, there is a certain chance that the BN44-00214A power module is defective and needs repair. Sometimes with similar manifestations, a problem can only occur in the absence of processor power, but this happens much less often. When diagnosing and repairing the power supply, first of all, it is necessary to check the fuse and, if it is broken, it is necessary to identify the cause. Often in such cases, an avalanche (thermal) breakdown is detected in the power semiconductor elements of the module - rectifier diodes or power key.
It should be borne in mind that in the practice of repair it is extremely rare that key transistors of the N-FET type fail for no reason that should be sought by checking other components, for example, a breakdown of the key can provoke faulty elements of the damper circuits, or dried electrolytic capacitors or dangling resistors of the primary power supply circuit, involved in the stabilization process. In this case, all semiconductor elements of the strapping of the PWM regulator chip MC33067P, A6159, which it is desirable to check by replacement, are subject to verification.
Diagnostics of power modules with a Power Factor Corrector (CMC) is somewhat more complicated and requires a more detailed approach.
In cases where the SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 TV has lost an image, and the sound is there and all other functions are operational, there is a possibility of an inverter (converter for powering the backlight) malfunction. When you turn on the TV, the image may appear briefly and immediately disappear. It should be borne in mind that with such manifestations, the lamps themselves also fail, the malfunction of which can be detected by replacement, by connecting to the connectors for diagnostics that are known to be serviceable and suitable in power.
The operation of the power circuits of the inverter and the backlight in the normal mode are controlled by special protection, which is organized for fire safety, for example, to disconnect during short circuits or breaks in high-voltage connections or when the lamps are depressurized. This protection makes it difficult to diagnose and repair the inverter.
When diagnosing with the protection off, special precautions must be taken, because there is a risk of failure of the power elements of the inverter. After the diagnosis, it is imperative to restore the protection circuits for the inverter to operate normally.
The appearance of the MainBoard BN41-00983A is shown in the figure below:
BN41-00983A
BN41-00983A can be used in TVs:
SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 (Panel T260XW02 V.L), SAMSUNG LE37A450C2 (Panel CLAA370WA03), SAMSUNG LE26A450 LE26A450C2 (Panel LTF260AP01), SAMSUNG LE32A450C2 (Panel T315XW02 V.L32WL15A1451151L1W3151L1A1UN1.
If the motherboard BN41-00983A is faulty, first of all it is necessary to check all the linear power regulators of its chips and, if necessary, update the software. Sometimes you can check the health of MB only by replacement. Sophisticated MB board repair (SSB) is in some cases possible and practiced by repairmen. To do this, check and, if necessary, replace the elements SEM01 0827S-LF, 25L1605AM21, SDP72, SIL9185CTU, EM6A9160TSOA-5G, NTP-3100, Tuner HTM2-6L2 / 235S (BN40-00116A). Complex repair of BN41-00983A is possible only in the conditions of a service center.
Attention to users! Self-repair of a SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 TV without the appropriate qualifications and experience can lead to its complete non-repairability!
LE26A451C1 C Version SP10:
Panel: T260XW02 V.L; Main: BN94-01673H (BN41-00983a); T-con: 26T02-C01 T260XW02 VL01 CTRL BD; Inverter: 4H.V2688.001-E.
LE26A451C1 S Version SP04:
Panel: LTF260AP01; Main: BN94-01673N (BN41-00983a); T-con: 260AP01C2LV1.3; PSU: BN44-00214a; Inverter: INV26S10A.
The LE26A451C1 model uses a BN44-00214A power supply unit using the PFC (Power Factor Correction) node - an active filter of the highest harmonics of the current consumption. In fact, this is a boost converter based on the FAN7530 PWM controller, which eliminates the charge current of the electrolytic capacitor of the rectifier filter directly from the network through open diodes, when its charging current is determined by its reactance.
As a result of the operation of the converter, the envelope of the high-frequency pulses of the input current of the converter will repeat the shape and phase of the input voltage. The health of the PFC node can be indirectly judged by the presence of an increased DC voltage (about + 380V) on the capacitor of the rectifier network in operating mode.
The appearance of the power supply:
Main features of the SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 device:
Installed matrix (LCD panel) T260XW02 V.L.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) T260XW02.
To power the backlight, an inverter V268-001 is used, it is controlled by the PWM controller OZ964SN. A 6504i transformer is installed in the inverter converter. As power elements of the inverter, keys of the type APM4015P, APM4010N are used.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the SAMSUNG LE26A451C1 TV are generated by the BN44-00214A power module or its analogs using MC33067P, STR-A6159, TDA4863G (PFC) microcircuits and 10N60 (PFC) type power switches.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is a BN41-00983A module, using SEM01 0827S-LF, 25L1605AM21, SDP72, SIL9185CTU, EM6A9160TSOA-5G, NTP-3100 and others.
The tuner HTM2-6L2 / 235S (BN40-00116A) provides the reception of television programs and tuning to channels.
