REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
TV LG 32LB561V, like many other electronic devices, it is advisable to start repairing by inspecting all external and internal elements. It often happens that visible damage to elements or connections helps determine the direction of the troubleshooting. Ring cracks in the soldering of the leads of the heating elements, swollen electrolytic capacitors, a charred paint layer on the resistors - all this for the repairman can be a significant clue in the assumptions about the causes and consequences of the malfunction.
If the LG 32LB561V does not turn on, no control lights on the front panel light up or blink, therefore, there is a very high probability of a malfunction of the EAX65391401 (2.7) LGP32-14PL1 power supply module. In some cases, only the processor power regulator may be faulty. In the absence of swollen filter capacitors of the secondary rectifiers, the diagnostics of the power supply should be started by checking the fuse and, if it is broken, it is first necessary to check all the power semiconductor elements of the primary circuit - diodes and transistors for the possibility of an avalanche or thermal breakdown.
Power switches in pulsed power supplies (SMPS) fail extremely rarely for no reason and, if they are broken, it is necessary to look for a malfunction in the stabilization circuits by checking electrolytic capacitors, semiconductor devices, and resistors in the primary circuit. The reason may be a malfunction of the SC1S311, 5A2RAD PWM controller chip, which can only be checked by replacing it with a new or obviously working one.
In cases where the LG 32LB561V TV has lost an image, but the sound is there and all other functions are operational, there is a possibility of a malfunction of the LED driver (converter for powering the backlight LEDs of the LC320DUE panel). When you turn on the TV, the image may appear briefly and disappear immediately. It must be borne in mind that with such manifestations the LEDs themselves also fail.
Often in the absence of backlighting, disassembling the panel is required. It is necessary to check the health of the transitions of the LEDs, as well as the reliability of the contact connections in the lines and connectors.
It is impossible to detect a break in the LED line without disassembling the panel with a simple multimeter. The LEDs are connected in series and to open their transitions, a voltage of several tens of volts is required. Ideally, a current source is suitable for such purposes.
The motherboard EAX65388006 (1.0) must be checked if there is no reaction to the remote control and function buttons, the standby indicator blinks or lights up continuously. In such cases, if the converters or power regulators of the microcircuit are working, a software update may be necessary.
When repairing an MB board, you need to check its CPU components: LGE2132; SPI Flash: MX25L8005; SOUND: TAS5733. Defective items should be replaced. If BGA chips are installed, their malfunction is usually localized by heating.
Before changing the tuner TDJM-G101D, if it is not possible to tune to television channels, make sure that there are supply voltages that must be measured on the corresponding terminals of the tuner.
For owners of 32LB561V TVs, we recommend that you contact qualified professionals with experience to repair! Self-repair attempts without the appropriate knowledge and skills can lead to serious negative consequences!

One of the typical malfunctions of the LG 32LB561V often occurs in LG's LED panel LC320DUE.
External manifestations: there is no image, the backlight does not work. In most such cases, the LEDs turn out to be malfunctioning, which during testing turn out to be either in a cliff or with broken internal zener diodes.
LEDs must be replaced, and the maximum current from the driver should be limited to 10-20%.

A typical defect is a malfunction of the backlight LEDs of the LC320DUE panel (matrix). A breakdown of the built-in zener diodes does not stop the inverter, therefore, when opening the panel, sometimes you can find more than a dozen LEDs in a breakdown state.
All LEDs are connected in series and the backlight works until the first break of the protective zener diode. Read more on replacing diodes and finalizing the inverter More details on this page

You can reduce the backlight current in LG TVs with LGP32-14PL1 power supplies (EAX65391401) as follows. The current sensor consists of six resistors R816-R821 connected in parallel - 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 2 Ohm, 8.2 Ohm. The total resistance in this case will be 0.22 Ohm. If you remove one resistor 1 Ohm, the total resistance increases to 0.28 Ohm, the current decreases proportionally from 250 mA to about 190 mA.

The appearance of the MainBoard EAX65388006 is shown in the figure below:

EAX65388006 can be used in TVs:
LG 32LB561V (Panel LC320DUE), LG 32LB561U (Panel NC320DXN VSBP1), LG 42LB629V ZM (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(P2) ), LG 32LB563U (Panel NC320DXN VSBP1), LG 42LB552V ZA (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(A6)), LG 32LB552U (Panel NC320DXN-VSBP4), LG 32LB563V (Panel LC320DUE (FG)(A3)), LG 42LB561V ZE (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(A3)), LG 42LB569V 42LB569V-ZX.BRUWLDU (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(A3)).
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the device LG 32LB561V:
Installed matrix (LED-panel) LC320DUE (FG) (A3).
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) 6870C-0488A.
To power the backlight LEDs, a converter is used, combined with a power supply unit, controlled by a PWM controller SSC1S311, A27RAY (sot23-6). As the power elements of the LED driver, keys of the type STD11N65M5, MDHT4N20Y are used.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the LG 32LB561V TV are generated by the LGP32-14PL1 power supply module or its analogs using NCP1251 (PWM SOT23-6 5A2R ..), NR134S (Step-Down) microcircuits and KP8N65 type power switches.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is an EAX65388006 module, using CPU chips: LGE2132; SPI Flash: MX25L8005; SOUND: TAS5733 and others.
The TDJM-G101D tuner provides television reception and channel tuning.
