REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
A malfunction of the power supply is often manifested corny - the TV does not turn on, does not make any sounds, does not light up and does not blink with any indicators. It is advisable to start the troubleshooting of the power supply module by checking the state of the electrolytic capacitors of the rectifier filters and the mains fuse. Defective capacitors should be replaced. If the mains fuse is broken, it is necessary to check first of all the power semiconductor elements - rectifier diodes and transistors KP8N65, which are often found in such a breakdown state in such situations.
It should be borne in mind that in the practice of repair it is extremely rare that key transistors in switching power supplies (SMPS) fail for no reason that should be sought by checking other components, for example, a breakdown of the key can provoke faulty elements of the damper circuits, or dried electrolytic capacitors or dangling primary resistors BP circuits involved in the stabilization process. In this case, all semiconductor elements of the strapping of the PWM regulator chip NCP1251, NR134S (Step-Down), which it is desirable to check by replacement, are subject to verification.
If the LG 32LF580V does not have an image, but there is sound, there may be a malfunction of the backlight LEDs of the NC320DUN panel or their power converter - LED driver.
In case of breaks in the LED circuit, a complete disassembly of the panel is required, the LEDs are checked for an open circuit, as well as the reliability of the connections in the connectors and rations of the terminals.
To detect a break in the LED lines without disassembling the panel, a current source is required. It is impossible to open transitions connected in series with a simple multimeter; voltage of several tens of volts is necessary.
On the EAX65388003 (1.1) RD59B51FFN motherboard, in case of a malfunction, you should first check the operation of all the stabilizers and power converters of the microcircuits, and also, if necessary, update the software (software).
If it is not possible to replace the MB (SSB) card, you must check the health of its elements - CPU: LGE2132; NAND Flash: H27U1G8F2CTR BC 350F; SPI Flash: 25Q80; EEPROM: 24C256; SOUND: TAS5733; . Defective components should be replaced.
Malfunction of the TDJM-G101D EBL6140501 tuner is established after checking the software and all supply voltages at its terminals. The data exchange of the tuner with the processor via the I2C bus can be controlled by an oscilloscope.

Attention to users! Self-repair of the LG 32LF580V TV without the appropriate qualifications and experience can lead to its complete non-repairability!

Service manual and schematic diagram ---------->  LG 32LF580* 32LF580*-ZA Chassis LD46B

You can reduce the backlight current in LG TVs with LGP32-14PL1 power supplies (EAX65391401) as follows. The current sensor consists of six parallel-connected resistors R816-R821 - 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 1 Ohm, 2 Ohm, 8.2 Ohm. The total resistance in this case will be 0.22 Ohm. If you remove one resistor 1 Ohm, the total resistance increases to 0.28 Ohm, the current decreases proportionally from 250 mA to about 190 mA.

EAX65388003 can be used in TVs:
LG 42LB551V (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(A5)), LG 42LB620V ZD (Panel LC420DUE (FG)(P2)), LG 39LB561V (Panel NC390DUN VXBP1), LG 32LF580V (Panel NC320DUN).
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the device LG 32LF580V:
Installed matrix (LED-panel) NC320DUN.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) HV320FHB-N00.
To power the backlight LEDs, a converter is used, combined with a power supply unit, controlled by a PWM controller SSC1S311, A27RAW (sot-26). As power elements of the LED driver, keys of the type STD11N65M5, STN4NF20L are used.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the LG 32LF580V TV are generated by the LGP32-14PL1 power module, or its analogs using NCP1251, NR134S (Step-Down) microcircuits and KP8N65 type power switches.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is an EAX65388003 module, using CPU chips: LGE2132; NAND Flash: H27U1G8F2CTR BC 350F; SPI Flash: 25Q80; EEPROM: 24C256; SOUND: TAS5733; and others.
The TDJM-G101D EBL6140501 tuner provides TV reception and channel tuning.
