REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General recommendations for repairing TV LCD
LG TV made on the LD91A chassis, like many other electronic devices, it is advisable to start repairing by inspecting all external and internal elements. Often, based on certain external signs, it may be possible to draw certain conclusions about the reasons for the failure of certain elements of the circuit even before the necessary measurements are made, which will determine the further algorithm for troubleshooting and localizing the defect. If ring cracks are detected in the soldering of the terminals of the elements or dangling connecting tracks, swollen capacitors or charred resistors - all this can be characteristic signs of the causes or consequences of an already known typical malfunction.
In cases when the LG LG TV does not turn on, does not respond to the remote control and buttons, no indicators on the front panel are lit or blinking, and there are no sounds and no signs of operability when turning on, the EAX55176301 / 11, MODEL power module is most likely to be faulty LGP32-09P or there is no processor power on the motherboard (a typical defect of some LG TVs). Diagnostics and repair of the common power supply should always begin with a check of the mains fuse and the condition of the electrolytic capacitors of the secondary rectifier filters. Defective and swollen capacitors should be replaced with new ones. If the fuse breaks, it is advisable to check for a breakdown, first of all, all the power semiconductor elements of the converter and the diode bridge of the rectifier network, as well as the large electrolytic capacitor of the filter of the rectifier network.
As a rule, the keys in switching power supplies (SMPS) are reliable enough and rarely fail for no reason to be looked for by checking other components of the circuit - electrolytic capacitors, resistors and semiconductor elements of the primary circuit. The PWM chip is verified by replacing it with a known good one.
If LG LG does not have an image, but there is sound, there is a possibility of a malfunction of the backlight or power converter. You should also make sure that the electrolytic capacitors of the secondary rectifiers of the common power supply are working. All necessary precautions must be observed when disabling the inverter protection during diagnostics and not leaving it disconnected after the repair is completed.
On the EAX60686904 (2) motherboard, in case of a malfunction, you should first check the performance of all the stabilizers or power converters of the microcircuits and, if necessary, update the software (software).
It should be remembered! Attempts to repair the LG LG TV, in the absence of the necessary qualifications and experience, are categorically not recommended and are fraught with negative consequences, up to the complete non-repairability of the device!

PSU Advanced
The 32LH4000-ZA TV is equipped with the LGP32-09P power module using the PFC (Power Factor Correction) scheme acting as an active filter to eliminate the higher harmonic components of the current consumption. The boost converter based on the L6562A PWM controller does not allow the input rectifier filter's electrolytic capacitor to be connected to the network directly through open diodes, when the reactance (about 15-30 ohms at a frequency of 50 Hz) determines the charge current. As a result of the conversion, the charging current of the capacitor will be determined in such a way that the envelope of the high-frequency pulses of the input current will repeat the phase and shape of the sine wave of the input voltage. The health check of the PFC unit is carried out by measuring the DC voltage on the capacitor of the rectifier network. In operating mode, it should be around 380V, in standby approximately 300V.
