REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General recommendations for repairing TV LCD
Repair of the PHILIPS TV with the Q543.1E LA chassis should begin with a careful external inspection of all its constituent elements and modules. Many visible changes in the state of the elements make it possible to determine the further direction of troubleshooting and localization of the defect. Carbonized paint on the upper layer of resistors, electrolytic capacitors of rectifier filters swollen after boiling, cracked soldering at the terminals of heating elements or transformers can often suggest the cause of the defect and possible consequences.
In cases when the PHILIPS 47PFL5604H TV does not turn on, does not respond to the remote control and buttons, any indicators on the front panel do not light up or blink, and there are no sounds and no signs of operability when turning on, the DPS-298CP-2 power supply module is most likely to be faulty 2722 171 00701 or there is no power to the processor on the motherboard (a typical defect of some PHILIPS TVs). When diagnosing and repairing the power supply, after replacing the swollen capacitors of the filters of the secondary rectifiers (if any), you must first check the mains fuse. When it is broken, the power elements of transistors and rectifier bridge diodes should be checked for avalanche (thermal) breakdown.
If a breakdown of the power switch is detected, it should be remembered that in a switching power supply (IIP) it does not fail by itself for no reason that should be sought by checking other elements of the primary circuit - electrolytic capacitors, a PWM controller, which can only be checked replacement, as well as other semiconductor elements (diodes, transistors, zener diodes).
If the PHILIPS 47PFL5604H TV does not have an image, but there is sound, the malfunction should be sought in the backlight power converter (inverter). It is also necessary to check the serviceability of the electrolytic capacitors of the filter of the secondary rectifiers of the BP (power supply) for an overstated ESR. When disabling the inverter protection (to enable diagnostics), special care must be taken in view of the risk of failure of the power elements. After completing all repair work, it is imperative to restore the protection circuits for full and safe further operation of the TV by the user.
Owners and users of the PHILIPS 47PFL5604H TV must remember that self-repair without special knowledge, skills and qualifications can be fraught with negative consequences that can lead to complete non-repairability of the device!

313912364421 can be used in TVs:
PHILIPS 32PFL5404H/12 (Panel LK315 code 210), PHILIPS 37PF5604H/60 (Panel LC370WUE(SB)(A1) code 201), PHILIPS 47PFL5604H/ (Panel TFT LCD470WUE-SB1A).

The DPS-298CP power supply module is made using the Power Factor Correction (PFC) scheme to eliminate multiple AC harmonics introduced into the power supply by the device. The PFC assembly is a Step-Up Converter based on a 1606B PWM controller that evenly distributes high-frequency impulses of the charging current of the electrolytic capacitor of the rectifier filter of the mains voltage evenly over a period of 50 Hz. The current of its charge in this case will already be determined not by its reactance (usually 10-30 ohms for the network frequency), but by the elements of the converter. As a result, a change in the amplitude of the pulses (envelope) of the consumed current of the converter will repeat the shape and phase of the input sinusoidal voltage. The availability of the increased voltage (about + 380V) in the operating mode on the capacitor of the line filter indicates the serviceability of the PFC node.
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the PHILIPS 47PFL5604H device:
Installed matrix (LCD panel) TFT LCD470WUE-SB1A.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) VS9257.
To power the backlight, a converter is used, combined with a power supply, controlled by a PWM controller DAA003A (24pin), DDA002B.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the PHILIPS 47PFL5604H TV are generated by the DPS-298CP power module or its analogs using 3BS3LJ (PWM 8pin), 1606B (PFC), DDA005 (6), DDA002B (PWM 20 pin) microcircuits.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is a module 313912364421, using chips PNX85439E, DRX3926K-XK-A3, HYB18TC512160B2F-3S, TPA6111A2DGN, NAND01GW3B2BN6F and others.
The HD1816AF-BHXP tuner provides TV reception and channel tuning.
