These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

General advice about LCD LED TV repair
Possible malfunctions

- LG 32LJ610V TV set does not turn on and does not show any signs of turning on, does not respond to the control buttons and remote control.

In such cases, power supply EAX67165201 is defective. Then it is recommended to measure its output voltages, and in case they are missing, check if the power switches (TO-220) and inverter rectifier diodes are in order to detect a possible short circuit.
If there is a breakdown in the secondary circuits, the inverter may be short-circuited and if there is a short in the primary circuit elements, the mains fuse usually blows.
Breakdown of power switches (MosFet) in switched-mode power supplies is sometimes caused by faults in other circuit elements, e.g. in circuits supplying the PWM controller, frequency-retaining or damping circuits, as well as in negative feedback (feedback) stabilisation circuits. PWM regulators (PWM) SOP-7, unless they have visible housing damage and outright short circuits between pins, are usually checked by replacement.

- No display, but there is sound and all other functions work. Sometimes the image appears for a second when switching on and then disappears.

Usually in such cases the fault is found in the backlighting nodes of the LED panel. The cause may be a break in the backlight LEDs, the stabilisation of their power supply, or a faulty connector connection of the 32 V17 ART3 2855 Rev0.3 630 mA strings.
To check the LED strips, several tens of volts or more are needed to open all the LED junctions, the best way to do this is to use a current source. A breakage of several PN junctions connected in series cannot be detected with a multimeter or a tester. In such cases it is necessary to open the panel and check each LED. If your multimeter is unable to open LED transitions in forward bias, it is sometimes possible to detect the presence of a PN junction of a safety stabulator by connecting the probes in the opposite direction. If the stabilistor is open or has a K/Z breakdown, then the LED is faulty and needs to be replaced.

- The TV does not switch on, the LED indicates standby or operating mode, or blinks.
If the LG 32LJ610V has no picture but sound, often the HC320DUN-ABSL1-A14X display backlight simply does not work. In LED TVs, it is common for the LEDs inside the panel to fail, or more rarely the LED driver.
In such cases, you can see a faintly visible image when external light hits the screen.

Disassembly of the HC320DUN-ABSL1-A14X LCD panel is required to replace the LEDs, a process which requires a lot of experience and skill. This is not recommended for TV owners or craftsmen without experience in LCD panel repair

If there is no image, but backlighting works - the screen becomes slightly lighter when the TV is switched on and you can see the light through the holes in the panel body when the TV is open.
In this case the panel may be defective - damage to the boards, cables, for example, as a consequence of moisture after an unsuccessful washing of the screen, the T-CON board (Timing Controller) may be defective. But quite often the MainBoard EAX67129604 is defective, software defects are also possible.
The first thing to check is the panel supply voltage, the fuses on the T-CON board, and the supply and reference voltages of the column and line drivers - VGH, VGL, Vcom.
If these measurements are within normal limits, you need to trace with an oscilloscope the LVDS signals from MainBoard EAX67129604, as well as synchronizing signals to the driver stubs.

Flooded or badly washed LED TV screens can be repaired in about half of all cases, usually if there is no significant damage to the panel stubs and slats.
Repair or diagnostic of motherboard EAX67129604 should start with checking power regulators and converters necessary to power the chips and matrix. Software (software) should be updated or replaced if necessary. Complex repairs to the MB board (SSB) are possible in some cases and are practiced by repairers. EEPROM elements 24C256 should be checked and if necessary replaced. BGA chip failures are usually easy to diagnose by heating.

If there is no TV channel reception, but the TV set is working properly from external devices, the first thing to do is to check the supply voltage of the TDJA-Q501D tuner and to update the software. You have to check the I2C communication pulses with an oscilloscope.

Once again, a reminder to users! Attempts to repair LG 32LJ610V TV set by oneself without proper qualification and necessary experience can lead to its complete unrepairability!

Main features of LG 32LJ610V:

A matrix (LED panel) LC320DUE (FK)(A1) is installed.
The converter combined with the power supply is applied for powering of backlighting LEDs, which is controlled by PWM controller M532Q11.
The power supply module EAX67165201 or its analogues with the use of SOP-7 chips and TO-220 type power keys performs formation of necessary supply voltages for all LG 32LJ610V TV assemblies.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is EAX67129604 module, using EEPROM: 24C256 and other microcircuits.
The TDJA-Q501D tuner allows the reception of television programmes and tuning to channels.

LG 32LJ610V with HC320DUN-ABSL1-A14X LCD screen, measuring 31.5" (80cm) diagonally in 16:9 aspect ratio. The LCD panel incorporates the Direct LED backlighting principle.
HC320DUN-ABSL1-A14X matrix and MainBoard software EAX67129604 provide high quality HD viewing of shows and movies at 1920x1080 pixels in 1080p (Full HD) resolution.
Model 32LJ610V has built-in SMART software and webOS operating system. A network connection can be established via Wi-Fi. Supported media formats are MP3, WMA, MPEG4, HEVC (H.265), DivX, MKV, JPEG.
The sound system has a capacity of 10 W (2x5 W) and is powered by two loudspeakers. NICAM stereo sound processing and Sound Surround surround function are used.
Connectivity to other devices via an external interface is supported by standard inputs and outputs: aerial (RF), AV, component, HDMI x3, USB x2, Ethernet (RJ-45), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, WiDi, Miracast. Warning. The HC320DUN-ABSL1-A14X LED TV is an expensive and fragile part of LG 32LJ610V TV.
Avoid all impacts to the glass and pressure on the surface of the screen to avoid damage to the LED panel!
It is also not safe to get liquids on the screen. Sometimes a single drop is enough if it drips down the glass onto the cables and the television becomes unrepairable.
