REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General advice about LCD LED TV repair
Possible problems

- SONY KD-49X8005C does not turn on, the indicators on the front panel do not light or blink. TV does not respond to the remote control.

It is most likely that the main switching power supply (MPS) 1-980-310-11 is faulty. You should measure its output voltages and in case of their absence, check the serviceability of the power switches and rectifier diodes in converters for possible breakdown.
At breakdown of semiconductors in the secondary circuits of any converter, as a rule, it can work in the emergency short-circuit mode without output voltages, and at short circuit in the elements of the primary circuit most often immediately burst the mains fuse and less often the current sensor at the source of the key.
Breakdown of Mos-Fet switches, used in pulse sources, is often caused by failure of other elements, for example, in PWM regulator supply circuit, in frequency-retaining or damping circuits, as well as in the Negative Feedback Stabilization. PWM MIP2H2 (STB) chips are usually checked by replacing them with new or known good ones.

- No picture, screen is black, there is sound, with external screen illumination sometimes you can see faint outlines of the image.

In such cases, the most likely faulty elements of the LED panel backlight. More often the reason for this is a breakage of LEDs, or poor contact in the connectors of strips, less often faulty can be the LED-driver.
Without a special current source to check the line of LEDs in series is impossible, and to use for this purpose, any voltage sources over 12v is not safe for them. Then you only have to open the panel and check each LED separately. Usually Chinese multimeters with 9V power supply will light up one 3 volt LED a bit if you connect the probes to it in forward direction, red probe to anode, black probe to cathode. For twin 6-volt LEDs, the PN junction of its faulty regulator can be used as an indicator of the health of the LED. If the LED is faulty, it will either be open or shorted.

- The TV set does not enter the operation mode, the remote control does not respond. Front panel LED is either constantly on or is blinking.

In cases where the SONY KD-49X8005C has no picture but sound, often the display backlight does not work.
In LED-TVs are usually faulty LEDs inside the panel LC490EQY-SHM2, and less often the LED-driver.
Without backlighting, you can sometimes see a faintly visible image with a certain luck of external lighting on the screen.

Replacing the LEDs requires disassembly of the LC490EQY-SHM2. Such work is not recommended for TV owners and craftsmen who do not have experience in repairing LCD-panels on their own, especially at home.

READ HOW TO REPAIR THE TV LED BACKLIGHT --------------> HERE.

If there is no image, but backlighting works, the screen becomes a little lighter when the TV is switched on, and the open TV can see the light through the holes in the panel body.

If this is the case the T-CON (Timing Controller) board may be faulty, but often the MainBoard 1-894-595-11 is faulty as well. Software failure is also possible. The MainBoard may also be malfunctioning due to damage to keypads or stub cables, such as after getting wet. In such cases, first of all check the panel power supply voltage at the LVDS connector, fuses on the T-CON board or panel strips, as well as supply and reference voltages for column and line drivers - VGH, VGL, Vcom.
If they are within normal limits, then an oscilloscope must be used to monitor the LVDS signals from the MainBoard 1-894-595-11, as well as synchronizing signals to the driver stubs.

Flooded LED TV screens can sometimes be repaired if there is no significant damage to the cables or panel strips.

Repair or diagnosis of motherboard 1-894-595-11 should be started with checking stabilizers and power converters necessary to power the chips and matrix. If necessary, software (software) should be updated or replaced. Complex repair of MB (SSB) is possible only in the conditions of the service center with the necessary equipment. Check or replacement of the elements IMAGE: MT5830DEHJ-BHHAH, CXD4753GB, eMMC: KLMAG2GEND-B031, Audio: : TAS5760M requires the necessary training and professional skills to repair the modules at the component level. Problems using BGA soldering techniques can sometimes be diagnosed by heating.

Before replacing your CE541ZP tuner, if you cannot tune to the TV channels, make sure that you have a supply voltage, which should be measured on the corresponding pins of the tuner and the software should be checked for correctness. The tuner-to-processor communication pulses can be checked with an oscilloscope

Warning to the users! Unauthorized repair of your SONY KD-49X8005C TV without necessary skills and experience can lead to its total unrepairability!

The main features of the SONY KD-49X8005C device:

A matrix (LED panel) LC490EQY-SHM2 or SYV4942 is installed.
A Timing Controller (T-CON) 6870C-0573A is used to control the matrix.
A converter combined with a power supply is used to power the LED backlight and is controlled by a BD9423EFV PWM controller. The TO-220 type switches are used as power elements of LED-driver.
Forming the necessary supply voltages for all components of the TV SONY KD-49X8005C is performed by a power module 1-980-310-11 or its analogues using MIP2H2 (STB) chips.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is 1-894-595-11 module, using IMAGE: MT5830DEHJ-BHAH, CXD4753GB, eMMC: KLMAG2GEND-B031, Audio: TAS5760M and others.
The CE541ZP tuner allows you to receive TV programs and tune in to channels.
