These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

DISASSEMBLING PROCEDURE 
How to remove Back cover
Before disassembling the tablet, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
Remove the back cover:
1. Place the tablet on a flat surface, display panel side down, with the power button toward you.
2. Use the finger notch (1) in the front left corner of the back cover to lift the front edge (2) of the back cover until it separates from the display panel assembly.
3. Remove the back cover (3).
How to remove Middle frame
Before removing the middle frame, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
Remove the middle frame:
1. Remove the ten Phillips PM1.3×4.5 screws (1) that secure the middle frame to the display panel assembly.
2. Remove the middle frame (2).
How to remove Battery
Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
Remove the battery:
1. Disconnect the battery cable (1) from the system board.
2. Use a case utility tool (2) or similar thin plastic tool to detach the battery (3) from the display panel assembly. (The battery is attached to the display panel assembly with double-sided adhesive.)
3. Remove the battery (4).
How to remove 3G antenna board
Before removing the 3G antenna board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the 3G antenna board:
1. Disconnect the 3G antenna cables (1) from the system board 3G terminals.
2. Release the 3G antenna cable from the retention clip (2) built into the display panel assembly.
3. Remove the Phillips PM1.3×2.4 screw (3) that secures the 3G antenna board to the display panel assembly.
4. Detach the 3G antenna board (4) from the display panel assembly. (The 3G antenna board is attached to the display panel assembly with double-sided adhesive.)
5. Remove the 3G antenna board and cables
How to remove Rear-facing webcam
Before removing the rear-facing webcam, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the rear-facing webcam:
1. Disconnect the rear-facing webcam cable (1) from the system board.
2. Detach the rear-facing webcam (2) from the display panel assembly. (The rear-facing webcam is attached to the display panel assembly with double-sided adhesive.)
3. Remove the rear-facing webcam bracket (3).
The rear-facing webcam bracket is available using spare part number 796816-001.
4. Remove the rear-facing webcam, bracket, and cable.
How to remove Front-facing webcam
Before removing the rear-facing webcam, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the front-facing webcam:
1. Disconnect the front-facing webcam cable (1) from the system board.
2. Remove the front-facing webcam (2) and cable.
How to remove Button board
Before removing the button board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the button board:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the button board cable is attached, and then disconnect the button board cable from the system board.
2. Remove the button board (2) and cable.
How to remove Display panel cable
Before removing the display panel cable, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the display panel cable:
1. Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the button board cable from the system board.
2. Release the ZIF connector (2) to which the display panel cable is attached, and then disconnect the button board cable from the display panel assembly.
3. Remove the display panel cable (3).
How to remove Speakers
Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the tablet.
3. Disconnect the power from the tablet by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Remove the middle frame
6. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board
Remove the speakers:
1. Unsolder the red and black speaker cables (1) from the system board speaker contact points.
2. Remove the speakers (2).
