SERVICE MODE FIRMWARE UPDATE POWER SUPPLY AND WOLFSON AUDIO DAC CIRCUIT
POWER ON SEQUENCE
1.Pressing of the POWER key is detected by the
IC4001 Submicrocomputer on the MAIN Assy. The IC4001 then outputs a POWER_ON
signal to the SYPS Assy
2.After receiving the POWER_ON signal, the
SYPS Assy activates, secondary Power[SW+12 V], setting it to ON.
3.The R8A34019BG (IC1001), the core LSI,
starts up. {RS-232C connector CN1601, log it to ON}
4. Communication between the R8A34019BG and
the DDR2 SDRAM starts.
5. Communication between the R8A34019BG and
the FLASH_IC starts.
6. It takes about 1 minute to complete the
startup process.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
“NO DISC” is displayed on the FL display.
• Check the power ON sequence.
• Check in the log that the model number of the drive has been recognized.
Example: “PIONEER BD-** BDV-****, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive” If it is not recognized, check the power for the SPATA and ATA signals.

Playback of a Blu-ray disc
# Check that the ID No. and destination are
set properly.
# Check that the drive operates properly.
# Check that the drive operates properly.
Video output from each connector
# According to the descriptions on the video
block, check the power to the relevant IC and for the reset/clock signals.
Audio output from each analog audio connector
# If an audio signal is not output from any of
the analog audio connectors: Check that power for each is supplied from AUPW to
AUJB. Also check the MCLK, BCK, and LRCK input signals between the MAIN and
AUJB Assys.
# If an audio signal is not output from a particular analog audio connector: Check the ADATA0-3 input signals between the MAIN and AUJB Assys. Check the digital input and analog output signals to/from the corresponding DAC.
# If an audio signal is not output from a particular analog audio connector: Check the ADATA0-3 input signals between the MAIN and AUJB Assys. Check the digital input and analog output signals to/from the corresponding DAC.
Perform an HDMI connection with a corresponding amplifier. Play
back a CD and perform PQLS operations.
Check that “PQLS” is lit on the FL display.
# Check that interlocked HDMI power On/Off
functions properly. If it does not function, check the signal between Pin 19 of
the HDMI (MAIN) connector and Pin 23 of IC4001.
PureAudio On/Off operation
Check that the LEDs, video outputs, and audio
power relay can be turned on or off.
# If the LEDs and video outputs cannot be
turned on and off: Check that the KEY0 signal between the MAIN and FLKY Assys
responds to pressing of the PureAudio key.
# If the audio power cannot be turned on and off: Check switching of the 12-V power supply and RY_ON signal between the MAIN and ACSW Assys.
# If the audio power cannot be turned on and off: Check switching of the 12-V power supply and RY_ON signal between the MAIN and ACSW Assys.
