These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

TO ENTER SERVICE MODE

This set has a feature like that look like this:  Service Mode can be easily repaired , review, to be adjusted.
Press multiple keys and the remote control unit does not work and the clock has been set.
To change the state of the clock is not set, the back up capacitor and GND in state of power supply is OFF, or unplug the AC power cord for more than 30 minuts.

Please let me short:

STATE  =>  BUTTON  => REMARKS

  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 1 => Initialization for shipment.  Normal service, please do not use.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 2 => Adjustment of display position on screen.  The same can be adjusted using the adjustment screen.  
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 3 => Automatic adjustment of the shifter PG.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 4 => Manual adjustment of PG shifter.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 5 => Adjusted to the center position tracking.  Can be adjusted by pressing the same button for 2 seconds or more for auto-tracking.  during playback.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 6 => Total time displayed on the screen recording status / state of  total playing time, and power On.
  • '7' button is not used for any adjustments.  It is reserved.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 8 => Initialization of EEPROM.  Do not use this for normal service.
  • Volume Dn (minimum) => 9 => Adjustment screen displayed on screen.  
During playback, the remote control transmitter;  The auto tracking button:  Press more than 2 seconds >>> Adjusted to center position tracking.

Test and service point for:  The short circuit to ground >>> BOT / EOT reel sensor will not work.

Make sure of the Time Use:
Can check on the state of total screen time / recording and playback state comulative time of Power On state.
The total time is displayed in hexadecimal.

  • Minimize the Volume.
  • Simultaneously press the (6) of the channel key of the remote control transmitter of the body and set the Volume Dn key.
  • After confirming the time, and then turn to OFF the power.

0010  > Power On
0003  > Play / record

Total time of power ON state.
Comulative time of record state / play back status.

(largest value of a) + (value of ten largest 16 X) + (hundreds place value of 16 X 16) + ( value of thousands 16 x 16 x 16x).
Does not work make sure of the time and use the clock has been set.
If the clock has been set, look at the clock to set the state for more than 30 minutes unplug the AC cord.
To cancel the back-up force, the power supply is short the ground and C1003 in the state of OFF.
