These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

DISASSEMBLING PROCEDURE 
How to remove Back cover
Before disassembling the tablet, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
Remove the back cover:
1. Place the tablet on a Ưat surface, display panel side down.
2. Place a suction tool (1) on the back cover near the POGO connector.
3. Lift the tool handle (2) and the use the handle (3) to remove the back cover.
How to remove Disconnecting the battery
Before disconnecting the battery, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is oƫ, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the bottom cover
Disconnect the battery:
1. Remove the 1.2 mm P0 Phillips-head screw (1) that secures the battery connector bracket to the system board.
2. Lift the battery connector (2) to remove it from the system board.
3. Carefully remove the battery ribbon cable (3) from the adhesive that secures it to the system board, and then disconnect the battery from the system board.
How to remove WWAN module (select models only)
Before removing the WWAN module, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is oƫ, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the bottom cover
5. Disconnect the battery
Remove the WWAN module:
1. Disconnect the WWAN antenna cables (1) from the terminals on the WWAN module.
2. Remove the 2 mm P0 Phillips screw (2) that secures the WWAN module to the system board.
3. Remove the WWAN module (3) by pulling the module away from the slot.
How to remove speaker
Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Disconnect the battery
6. Disconnect the WWAN antenna
Remove the left speaker:
1. Disconnect the left speaker cable (1) from the system board .
2. Remove the two 3 mm P0 Phillips screws (2) that secure the left speaker to the display panel assembly.
3. Lift and remove the left speaker (3).
How to remove Audio board
Before removing the audio board, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Disconnect the battery
6. Remove the WWAN module
7. Remove the left speaker
Remove the audio board:
1. Release the proximity antenna ZIF connector (1), and then disconnect the proximity sensor antenna ribbon cable from the audio board.
2. Release the audio board ZIF connector (2), and then disconnect the audio board ribbon cable from the audio board.
3. Remove the two 3 mm P0 Phillips screws (3) that secure the audio board bracket to the display panel assembly, and then remove the bracket.
4. Lift and remove the audio board (4).
How to remove Front-facing webcamera
Before removing the front-facing webcamera, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the back cover
5. Disconnect the battery
6. Remove the left speaker
7. Disconnect the proximity sensor antenna ribbon cable from the audio board
Remove the front-facing webcamera:
1. Release the copper grounding strap and remove the plastic tape (1) covering the front-facing webcamera ZIF connector.
2. Release the ZIF connector (2) attaching the front-facing webcamera cable to the system board.
3. Peel up the adhesive connecting the webcamera cable to the battery. Start from the elbow of the adhesive and lift the front-facing webcamera cable (3) from the display panel assembly.
4. Carefully remove the front-facing webcamera (4) from the retention clips that secure it to the display panel assembly, and then remove the webcamera.
How to remove System board
Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the MicroSD card tray
5. Remove the Nano SIM card tray (select products only)
6. Remove the back cover
7. Disconnect the battery
8. Remove the WWAN module
9. Remove the left speaker
10. Remove the audio board
11. Remove the vibration motor board
12. Remove the front-facing webcamera
13. Remove the rear-facing webcamera
Remove the system board:
1. Remove the screw (1) that connects the touch module to the system board, and then lift up the touch module (2) to move it out of the way.
2. Remove the two 1.2 mm P0 Phillips screws that secure the POGO pin metal bracket to the system board and the two 1.2 mm P0 Phillips-head screws that secure the display panel cable bracket, and then remove the brackets (1).
3. Disconnect the POGO pin connector (2) from the system board and disconnect the microphone ribbon cable, and disconnect the right speaker cable (3) and move the cables out of the way.
4. Carefully disconnect the wireless LAN antenna cables (1) from the system board, Remove the MAIN wireless LAN antenna cable from the routing clips on the system board and remove the cable (2).
How to remove Battery and middle plate
Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Turn oƫ the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is oƫ, turn the tablet on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power adapter cord from the tablet.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4. Remove the MicroSD card tray
5. Remove the Nano SIM card tray
6. Remove the back cover
7. Disconnect the battery
8. Remove the WWAN module
9. Remove the left speaker
10. Remove the audio board
11. Remove the vibration motor board
12. Remove the front-facing webcamera
13. Remove the rear-facing webcamera
14. Remove the system board
15. Remove the right speaker
Remove the battery and middle plate:
1. Peel oƫ and remove the proximity sensor plastic (1).
2. Remove the six 2 mm P0 Phillips and two 3 mm P0 Phillips screws (1) that secure the middle frame to the display assembly.
3. Lift and remove the battery and middle plate (2).
