REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

FETCH TV UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL - SETUP PROCEDURE

This remote control have setup codes for almost all TVs and DVD sets.

SETUP PROCEEDINGS

Fetchtv features a universal remote that can be programmed to also control your TV & DVD.

  • To program your remote follow these steps:
  • Check the list of TV and DVD brands below to identify the codes for your TV or DVD.
  • If there is more than one code listed you will need to try each of them to determine which one is best for your equipment.
  • Choose the mode by pressing either TV or DVD on your fetchtv remote (you can’t reprogram it for the STB).
  • The button should light up and then go off when you choose the mode.
  • Hold down the? RC Setup button until the selected mode button (TV or DVD) flashes once and then, after a pause, twice more.
  • Type in the first of the 4 digit codes shown on the list for your brand of TV or DVD.  The selected mode button will flash each time you enter a number.
  • If the 4 digit code has been successfully entered, the mode button will flash twice after you enter the last number.
  • If you type in an incorrect code the mode button will light up solid red and will not flash twice. You will need to start again from the beginning.
  • Once you have correctly entered the code you then need to test whether it is the correct one for your model of TV or DVD. To do this check that the correct mode (TV or DVD) is selected on your fetchtv remote & then press the on/off button to see whether it turns on your TV or DVD.
  • If ths does not work, it means the code you programmed is not correct for your TV or DVD. You need to repeat these steps using the next code shown on the list for you brand of TV or DVD.
  • If it does work, test other buttons to check you are able to access the full functionality.  It is possible that there are several codes on the list for your brand of TV or DVD that will work better than others. You may need to try several to find the best one.
  • When you have found a code that works well, take off the battery cover of your fetchtv remote control. Write the code on the sticker inside the cover. You will need to re-enter the code if the batteries are removed from the remote control.
