These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

METHOD-1
  1. Press "Menu => 0 => 3 => 5 => 3" buttons OR "Menu => 0 => 3 => 5 => 7" buttons in series by the remote control, when the set is in standby mode.
  2. Use "Video" & "Audio" buttons on the remote control to select different group of adjustments.
  3. Press 'Video & "Audio" button again in steps along through adjustments.
  4. Use ( + ) & ( - ) buttons to adjust the data value to selected items.
  5. Press "Enter" button to save the adjusted settings into the memory.  Do this after each adjustment.
  6. To "EXIT" service mode, press "Menu" button '2' times.
 
METHOD-2
  • Press "Menu => 1 => 5 => 7" OR "Menu => 1 => 2 => 5 => 9" OR "Menu => 1 => 7 => 0" buttons in sequence by the remote control.  The procedure will be different to chassis.
  • Use "Video" or "Audio" buttons to enter different group of adjustments.
  • Use 'Video" of 'Audio" buttons to call an item to adjust, and use ( + ) or ( - ) buttons to adjust the data value to selected item.
  • Press "Enter" button to save change after each adjustment.
  • Press the 'MENU" button 2 times to "EXIT" service mode.
 
METHOD -3.
  • Press [Menu > 2 > 3 > 5 > 6] or [Menu > 2 > 3 > 5 > 7] or [Menu > 2 > 3 > 5 > 8] or [Menu > 2 > 3 > 5 > 9] buttons in sequence by the remote control.  
  • Use "Video" or "Audio" buttons to enter different group of adjustments.
  • Use "Video" or "Audio" buttons again, to select an item to adjust.
  • Use ( + ) or ( - ) button on the remote control, to adjust the data value to selected item.
  • Press "Enter" button to save the settings.
  • Press 'Menu" button 2 times, to "EXIT" service mode.

 
METHOD-4

  1. Enter [Menu > 8 > 2 > 5 > 7] by the remote control.
  2. Use "Video" or "Audio" buttons to enter different group of adjustment items.
  3. Use the "Video" or "Audio" buttons-again to step through the selected items.
  4. Use ( + ) or ( - ) baton on the remote control to adjust the data value to selected item.
  5. Press 'Enter" button to save the changes to memory.
  6. Press 'Menu" button 'Twice' to EXIT service mode.
