These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

HOW TO EJECT THE DISC MANUALLY 
1. Remove the Top Cover and Front Assembly.
2. Insert a screwdriver, hexagon wrench to push the Portion A.
3. Pull the tray out manually and remove a disc.


HOW INITIALIZE THE BLU-RAY DISC PLAYER

To put the program back at the factory-default, initialize the BD player as the following procedure.
1. Turn the power on.
2. Remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
3. Press [1], [2], [3], [4], and [INFO] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.4. Press [ STOP ] button on the remote control unit.
        CLEAR WILL DISPLAY 
5. To exit this mode, press [ POWER ] button.
FIRMWARE RENEWAL MODE
Note: The file extension of the available firmware is “b20”.
1. Turn the power on and remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
2. To put the BD player into version up mode, press [9], [8], [7], [6], and [DISC MENU/POP UP MENU] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.
The tray will open automatically.
3. Load the disc for version up.
4. The BD player enters the F/W version up mode automatically. Make sure to insert the proper F/W for the state of this model.
5. After programming is finished, the checksum on the VFD .
6. Unplug the AC cord from the AC outlet. Then plug it again.
7. Turn the power on.
8. Press [1], [2], [3], [4], and [INFO] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.
9. Press [ STOP ] button on the remote control unit.
10. To exit this mode, press [POWER ] button.
How to Verify the Firmware Version
1. Turn the power on.
2. Remove the disc on the tray and close the tray.
3. Press [1], [2], [3], [4], and [INFO] buttons on the remote control unit in that order.
4. To exit this mode, press [ POWER ] button.
HOW TO RENEW THE FIRMWARE
1. Press [HOME] to display Home menu.
2. Select to Settings - Advanced Setup - Others - Software Upgrade.
3. F/W Upgrade  will appear on the screen, then select Yes
4.Insert the disc and press [OPEN/CLOSE].
5. Disc loading starts.
6. UPDATE WILL DISPLAY ON THE SCREEN AND  VFD
7. F/W loading starts
8. Updating starts automatically. Wait until installation complete
9. SHUTDOWN on the VFD and turn the power off automatically when it finishes.
10. The power turns on and the tray will open automatically. Remove the disc on the tray. All the Settings will be kept as they were.

The laser bream is emitted for the location shown in picture. when checking the laser diode , be sure to keep the eyes at least 30 cm away from the pickup lens when the diode is turned on . Do not look directly  at the laser beam.
