General Repair Instructions for LCD LCD TVs
Possible malfunctions:
- TELEFUNKEN TF-LED24S38T2 does not light up and shows no sign of performance. The indicators do not flash and do not respond to the control buttons.
In such cases, the common power source, the AC / DC voltage converter, which is combined with the components of the main board MS34631-ZC01-01, is often faulty. It is necessary to check the presence of its output voltages and, if they are completely absent, to check the power switches (06N60C3 TO-252) and the rectifier diodes for a probable short circuit.
In the event of diode failures in the secondary circuits, the converter can operate in emergency short-circuit mode without output voltages and during a short-circuit in the power elements of the primary circuit, the network fuse and / or the current sensor at the source of the key usually breaks.
Mos-Fet keys used in switch mode power supplies generally fail due to a malfunction of other elements likely to put it out of service in key mode or to cause an excess of current or maximum voltage. These can be circuits supplying the PWM controller, damping or frequency adjustment circuits, or negative feedback elements in the stabilization circuit. PWM Controllers (PWM) PWM SOT23-6, in the absence of external damage and a short circuit between the terminals, is checked by replacing it with another obviously functional.
- There is no picture, but there is sound and a reaction to the remote control commands. Or the image appears immediately after being turned on and disappears.
Often in such cases there is no LED backlight. This can be due to both the power supply of the LEDs, their operating state (failure or breakage) and the violation of the contact connections of the LED strips.
When trying to identify a break in the LED lines, you should keep in mind that it is difficult to do so without dismantling the panel. For example, a power source is required to open PN junctions connected in series.
- The television does not enter operating mode, does not respond to the remote control. The indicator on the front panel is permanently on or blinking.
The appearance of the MainBoard MS34631-ZC01-01 is illustrated in the figure below:
Repairing or diagnosing the MS34631-ZC01-01 motherboard should begin by checking the stabilizers and power converters needed to power the chips and matrix. If necessary, you must update or replace the software (software). Often, the MB (SSB) card must be replaced in the event of complex malfunctions that are difficult to detect. When trying to repair, you need to check the items - SPI FLASH 25Q64 and replace the failed chips with new ones. Some malfunctions may be due to the use of BGA soldering technologies in the modern motherboard. Typically, such faults are detected by local heating of the chip.
Before changing the NoName DVB-T2 tuner, if it is not possible to tune in the TV channels, you must make sure that supply voltages must be measured at the corresponding tuner pins and check the accuracy of the software . The pulses of the data exchange from the tuner to the processor can be monitored by an oscilloscope
Owners and users of the TELEFUNKEN TF-LED24S38T2 TV should remember that self-repair without special knowledge, skills and qualifications can have serious negative consequences which can lead to complete non-repairability of the device!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....
If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.
These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.
While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.
