REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

Specifications RB-28D7
RUBIN RB-28D7
General recommendations for TV LCD LED repair
RUBIN RB-28D7 TV, like many other electronic devices, it is advisable to start repairing with an inspection of all external and internal elements. Visible damage to elements can sometimes indicate the direction of searching for a defect even before the necessary measurements are taken. Elements with visible damage, for example, capacitors swollen after electrolyte boiling, charred resistors in certain nodes of the circuit, as well as ring cracks in the solders, will help the master guess about the causes and possible consequences of the malfunction.
Power supply module malfunctions can be expressed in different ways, for example, RUBIN RB-28D7 does not turn on at all and the control lamps on its front panel do not light up or blink, all signs of operability are absent. It should be noted that the processor power regulator (converter) may be faulty with the same external manifestations. The first step is to replace the swollen capacitors of the rectifier filters, if any. If the mains fuse in the power supply is broken, in most cases a breakdown of the power switch (s) is detected, which can be integrated with a PWM controller, or a separate field-effect transistor can be used. You should also check the diodes of the rectifier bridge and the electrolytic capacitor of the mains rectifier filter.
Power switches in switching power supplies (SMPS) fail for no reason very rarely and, in case of their breakdown, it is necessary to look for a malfunction in the stabilization circuits, checking electrolytic capacitors, semiconductor devices and resistors in the primary circuit. The reason may be a malfunction of the PWM regulator microcircuit, which can only be checked by replacing it with a new or known good one.
If RUBIN RB-28D7 does not have an image, there is sound and the channels are switched, there is a possibility of a malfunction in the LED circuit of the CX275DLEDM panel backlight or their power converter - LED driver. Sometimes, when turned on, the image appears and disappears immediately. In such cases, it is necessary to check the electrolytic capacitors of the power filter of the LED driver itself, including in the secondary rectifier of the main power supply unit.
In most cases of lack of backlighting, it becomes necessary to disassemble the panel in order to check the LEDs, connectors, loops and all contact connections. If one or more LEDs do not work in one line, then they are broken and should be replaced.
It is impossible to identify an open circuit in the LED line without disassembling the panel with a simple multimeter. The LEDs are connected in series and a voltage of several tens of volts is required to open their junctions. Ideally, a current source is suitable for such purposes.
When trying to repair the motherboard, you should first check the serviceability of linear stabilizers or microcircuit power converters and, if necessary, update the software (software).
Complicated repair of MB (SSB) board is in some cases possible and practiced by repairmen. To do this, check and, if necessary, replace the elements of the CPU: TSUMV59XUS-Z1, SPI FLASH: GD25Q32. Malfunctions in BGA chips are usually easy to detect by warm-up.
Attention to users! Independent repair of the RUBIN RB-28D7 TV without proper qualifications and experience can lead to its complete non-repairability!

Attention! The CX275DLEDM panel of the RUBIN RB-28D7 LED TV is an expensive and unreliable element.
Do not allow any impact on the glass and pressure on the screen surface to avoid damage to the LED panel!
It is also unsafe for liquid to spill onto the screen. Sometimes one drop is enough if it drips down the glass onto the cables to make the TV unrepairable.
