These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution.In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

TOOL NEEDED

  • IBM compactable PC that minimum CPU requirements is Pentium III 800.
  • D8330 Card {PCI interface}
  • D8330 Interface Cable.
  • DVI to HDMI cable.
Software Tool
  • OS need Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000/XP.
  • D8330 display Data Channel Testing System.
DVI to HDMI Cable


SETUP PROCEDURE

Should install the D8330 Display Data Channel Testing System first.
Add DDC data to PC.

Coretonic will provide the Archer DDC data for update process.

M5020 MODEL

ZP5020_VGA.DDC FOR EDID ANALOG
ZP5020_HDMI.DDC FOR EDID DIGITAL

M5820 MODEL

ZP5820_VGA.DDC FOR EDID ANALOG
ZP5820_HDMI.DDC FOR EDID DIGITAL

M5880 MODEL

ZP5880_VGA.DDC FOR EDID ANALOG
ZP5880_HDMI.DDC FOR EDID DIGITAL 

M6580 MODEL

ZP6580_VGA.DDC FOR EDID ANALOG
ZP6580_HDMI.DDC FOR EDID DIGITAL

2 Files.  Put them  in C:\Program Files\DynaColor\DDC\dat directory.




Turn Off protection for DDC upgrade.  Press 'Ch + ' first, then press "Power" after.  Hold the both buttons simultaneously , let go, then press "Power"

DDC-analog data update.  Analog cable installation method.


Double click 'DDC' icon to execute D8330 Display Data Channel Testing System


Select "Working Model" to ZP5880_VGA.  If can't find the ZP5880_VGA

Can see this picture.


Key in Serial Number


After press 'Enter" key on the keyboard, will show "PASS" information like this.


From now, have finished the DDC-analog data update.  Want to continue update DDC digital data, do not Power Off the TV.

DDC-DIGITAL DATA UPDATE.

Cable installation method.


Check TV in the power on mode; the power light indicator in front keypad is Green.

Double click "DDC" icon to execute D8330 display Data Channel Testing System


Select "Working Model" to ZP5880_HDMI.  If can't find the ZP5880_HDMI


Execute function button in the left area. Can see this picture.


Key in serial number


After press 'Enter' key to execute, it will show "PASS" information like this picture.


From now have finished the DDC-digital  data update. Note that there is two 2vDDC Port updates.

Turn on the "Protection" for DDC upgrade, then press "Vol --" + 'Menu' simultaneously.
