REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!
Today, the West is headed for the abyss. For the ultimate fate of our disposable society is for that society itself to be disposed of. And this will happen sooner, rather than later.

SAMSUNG - HLR 4667W1X HLR5067W1X TROUBLESHOOTING DLP PTV

SAMSUNG - HLR 4667W1X HLR5067W1X TROUBLESHOOTING DLP PTV

APPLICABLE TO:  SAMSUNG DLP TVs > HLR5067WX/XAA _ HLR4667W1X/XAA_ HLR5067W1X/XAA _HLR5667W1X/XAA_ HLR6167W1X/XAA Models.

Check the master switch  and fuse to see whether they are operating.

LED blinking:  [Temp & Timer LEDs blinks]

  • Check whether the fans are running.  If Yes, Replace Detect Board.
  • If No, check for (8VDC) at CN103 & 104 on Detect Board.  If Yes, Replace Fan/s.
  • If No, Check CN802 pins 8&10 on the Power Board.  If No, Replace the Power Board.
  • If Yes, Replace the Analog board.
<Blinking Lamp and Temp LEDs>
  • Is Lamp Cover installed?  If No, install the Lamp Cover.
  • If Yes, make sure, lamp cover Switch is activating.
  • If Yes, Short CN101 on Sub-Detect board.  Check boss on the Lamp cover.
  • If No, Replace Sub-Detect board.
  • If this too do not help, Replace the Digital Board.
<A Blinking Lamp LED is the most common failure indication.  It can be caused by No lamp, No Color Wheel, No Fan/s or other defective components>

Check Whether:
  • Do Fan/s Run? If Yes, does the Color Wheel Run?  If Yes, Is lamp On? If Yes, Replace DMD Board.
  • Do the Fan/s Run?  If yes, does the Color Wheel Run? If No, Replace the Color Wheel Assy'
  • If Fan/s Run; Color wheel Run; and the Lamp is ON then Replace the DMD board.
  • Fan/s Runs; Color Wheel Runs; Lamp is ON, but Lamp come On and then Shuts Down.  If so, Check the (5Vpp) at CN503 pin-3 on DMD board. If there is (5Vpp); Replace DMD baord.  A faulty ballast could also be the reason.
  • If the Fan/s run; Color wheel run; lamp come On and shuts Off > Check 280VDC to lamp ballast CN1.  If there is voltage present, Re install Lamp Ass'y.  If there is no 280VDC, Replace Power board.

SAMSUNG - HLR SERIES DLP TVs NOISE PROBLEM

                                   Samsung HLR series DLP PTVs

  • Internal noise may be caused by a foreign substance on the fan or driving device.  For a DLP TV, the Lamp Fan, DMD board fan and color wheel are vulnerable to noise.  Sometimes the connector wire around the lamp or DMD fan makes contacts with the fan, while the color wheel is protected inside the module and cannot make contact with any nearby wires.
  • However the color Wheel Sensor or the drive motor may cause noise by making contact  with the color wheel.  As color wheel uses an air bearing system, it has very slight possibility of creating internal noise.
  • Sometimes, outworn transistors may cause noise when regular noise occurs for other reasons for the fan itself.  When irregular noise occurs for no particular reason, check the inside of the TV for any foreign substances.
  • The DLP Projection TV may cause noise as the physical screen in empty inside, causing  a resonance to a particular frequency.  Thus, a low vibration is not a malfunction.
  • Any 'Creaking' noise is mostly from the structure of the device itself.  A short harsh noise may occur from a distortion or malformation due to thermal expansion between the metal joints, screws and loaded parts, respectively.  Any intermittent creaking noise can be removed by loosening the screws.
BLACK SCREEN [Voice Output]
  • Check the Lamp/ballast of the replacement and, if there is nothing wrong, check any resistance RA701-RA704 for the waveform or look into the connector jointed areas
  • When the measurement is not +-25v DDP1011 is an error.  If so, the DMD board should be replaced.
  • A black screen with Lamp ON> [Replace DMD board]
  • Line pattern:  Regular line patterns occur vertically or horizontally > Replace DMD board.
  • Voice Distortion > Replace the analog board.
  • Outside Light > This is not a product malfunction, but possible installation or human error.  This occurs when the projected light from the surrounding illumination reflects onto the screen.  This disappears as the TV starts operating and the TV lamp gets brighter.  However, it can be avoided outside light by changing the position of the TV or installation angle.
SCREEN FLIP OVER
  • Enter Factory Mode in DDP1011 and perform H-Flip (Flip horizontally) and V-Flip (Flip Vertically).  The screen will flip over horizontally or vertically
