REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
It is advisable to start the repair of the TOSHIBA 23EL934RK TV with a careful external examination of both internal and external elements. Sometimes, based on visible changes in the components of the device, it is possible to draw some conclusions and determine the direction of further troubleshooting even before the necessary measurements are taken. Experienced repairmen are often aware of the causes of the defect and possible consequences, for example, from ring cracks in the soldering of the leads of the elements, as well as from swollen capacitors or resistors burnt to coal dust and other external indirect signs.
If the power supply module UE-3470-1SUN-LF malfunctions, the external manifestations may be different, for example, the TOSHIBA 23EL934RK does not turn on at all and there is no indication of the indicator lights on the front panel. With the same symptoms, the stabilizer (converter) of the power supply to the control processor may be faulty. When diagnosing and repairing the power supply, first of all, replace the swollen capacitors of the filter of the secondary rectifiers and check the fuse and, if it is broken, it is necessary to identify the cause. Often in such cases, an avalanche (thermal) breakdown is detected in the power semiconductor elements of the module — rectifier diodes and transistors TF7N70, P1504EDG, AO D482 in the primary circuit.
If a breakdown of the power switch is detected, it should be remembered that in a switching power supply (IIP) it does not fail by itself without any reasons that should be sought by checking other elements of the primary circuit - electrolytic capacitors, 6754MR PWM controller (8), M101 1147 (6), which can only be checked by replacement, as well as other semiconductor elements (diodes, transistors, zener diodes).
If, when you turn on the TV, the image appears and immediately disappears, or is initially absent when you turn on, but the sound is there and other functions work, there is a high probability of a malfunction of the LED driver (power converter for the LED backlight panel). In such cases, the general power module is also subject to verification, in which the electrolytic capacitors of the rectifier filter supplying the LED driver should be checked.
To check the health of the LEDs, as well as contact connections in the ruler circuit, it is necessary to disassemble the panel.
It is impossible to check the LED line for breaks without disassembling the panel with a multimeter or tester. For these purposes, it is necessary to open all series-connected PN junctions and a voltage of the order of tens of volts will be required, and ideally, a current source.
Attention! For users and owners of 23EL934RK TVs who do not have the appropriate qualifications, knowledge and experience, we categorically do not recommend attempting self-repair in order to avoid negative consequences that could lead to complete non-repairability of the device.
