REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
Any repair usually begins with an external inspection. From the visible external changes in the state of the components, it is often possible to determine the further direction of the troubleshooting before making the necessary measurements. Experienced repairmen are often aware of the causes of the defect and the possible consequences, for example, from ring cracks in the soldering of the leads of the elements, as well as from swollen capacitors or resistors burnt to coal dust and other external indirect signs.
If the 24LEN60 TV does not turn on, does not make any sounds when it is turned on, and also no indicators on the front panel light or blink - there is a high probability of a malfunction in the power module. In some cases, only the stabilizer or power converter of the control processor may be faulty, which is typical for some ERISSON models. First of all, it is necessary to replace the swollen capacitors of the rectifier filters, if any. If the mains fuse is cut off in the power supply, in most cases a breakdown of the power key (s) is detected, which can be integrated with the PWM controller, or a separate field-effect transistor can be used. The rectifier bridge diodes and the electrolytic capacitor of the mains rectifier filter should also be checked.
It should be borne in mind that in the practice of repair it is extremely rare that key transistors in switching power supplies (SMPS) fail for no reason that should be sought by checking other components, for example, a breakdown of the key can provoke faulty elements of the damper circuits, or dried electrolytic capacitors or dangling primary resistors BP circuits involved in the stabilization process. In this case, all semiconductor elements of the strapping of the PWM controller chip are subject to verification, which it is desirable to verify by replacement.
If, when you turn on the TV, the image appears and immediately disappears, or is initially absent when you turn on, but the sound is there and other functions work, there is a high probability of a malfunction of the LED driver (power converter for the backlight LEDs of the LM230WF5 panel). In such cases, the general power module is also subject to verification, in which the electrolytic capacitors of the rectifier filter supplying the LED driver should be checked.
In most cases of lack of backlight, it becomes necessary to disassemble the panel in order to check the LEDs, connectors, loops and all contact connections. If one or several LEDs does not work in one line, therefore, they are broken and should be replaced.
A break in the line of LEDs connected in series cannot be detected with a multimeter or tester without disassembling the panel. To open all the transitions, several tens of volts are needed, and it is best to use a current source for such purposes.

When trying to repair the motherboard, you should first check the serviceability of linear stabilizers or power converters of microcircuits and, if necessary, update the software (software).
In some cases, to repair the MB board (SSB), it may be necessary to replace the chips - Flash 25Q32 with new or obviously good ones. In cases where BGA technologies are used, defects are usually localized by the heating method.
If the TV works normally with external devices, but does not tune into television channels, the CDT-35P5I2-36 tuner may be malfunctioning. In such cases, first of all, you should make sure that there are supply voltages at its corresponding terminals.

Once again, remind users! Attempts to repair the TV ERISSON 24LEN60 on its own without the appropriate qualifications and experience can lead to its complete unrepairability!
