In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

General repair guidelines for TV LCD LED
In the case when the UE37D6100 does not turn on, does not respond to the remote control and buttons on the front panel, does not blink light bulbs and does not show any signs of operability, the power supply module BN44-00458B is probably faulty in this case. Diagnostics and repair of the common power supply should always begin with a check of the mains fuse and the condition of the electrolytic capacitors of the secondary rectifier filters. Defective and swollen capacitors should be replaced with new ones. If the fuse breaks, it is advisable to check for a breakdown, first of all, all the power semiconductor elements of the converter and the diode bridge of the rectifier network, as well as the large electrolytic capacitor of the filter of the rectifier network.
As a rule, the keys in switching power supplies (SMPS) are reliable enough and rarely fail for no reason to be looked for by checking other components of the circuit - electrolytic capacitors, resistors and semiconductor elements of the primary circuit. The PWM chip is checked by replacing it with a known good one.
If, when you turn on the TV, the image appears and immediately disappears, or is initially absent when you turn on, but the sound has other functions that work, there is a high probability of a malfunction of the LED driver (power converter for the backlight LEDs of the LD370CGB-C2 panel).
Often in the absence of backlighting, disassembling the panel is required. It is necessary to check the serviceability of the transitions of the LEDs, as well as the reliability of the contact connections in the lines and connectors.
To check the health in the LED circuit it is better to use a current source with a maximum voltage of 200V. We do not recommend using any voltage sources for this purpose. You can test each LED individually with a simple Chinese multimeter (powered by 9 volts) in the P-N-junction test mode. If you connect the red probe of the multimeter to the anode of the LED, and the black to its cathode, then the LED will light up slightly.
In cases of attempts to repair the BN41-01604C BN94-05370G motherboard, it is necessary to check the operability of the linear stabilizers and power converters of its microcircuits and, if possible, update the software (software). BGA chips can sometimes be diagnosed by local heating.
When repairing the MB board, it is necessary to check the performance of the stabilizers and power converters of microcircuits. Defective items should be replaced. If BGA chips are installed, their malfunction is usually localized by heating.
Before replacing the DTOS403VH083A tuner, if there is no tuning for the channels, you must first check the software, the supply voltage at its terminals, and the data exchange with the processor.
The detailed composition of the board: SDP1001, SDP94, K4B1G1646G-BCH9, 74VHC4052A, RTL8201E, TAS5725, AK4686EQ, WT61P805, Sil9489ACTUC, GL8526, AOZ1033AI, AOZ1360, M24512LV, AT2191, 742113, 742113, AT2191, 74.
It should be remembered! Attempts to repair the SAMSUNG UE37D6100 TV, in the absence of the necessary qualifications and experience, are categorically not recommended and are fraught with negative consequences, up to the complete non-repairability of the device!

The composition includes MainBoard BN41-01604C BN94-05370G and LCD panel (matrix) LD370CGB-C2.
Power Supply Unit (PSU) BN44-00458B PD46A1D_BHS Power Supply.

The appearance of the MainBoard BN41-01604C is shown in the figure below:
BN41-01604C
BN41-01604C can be used in TVs:
SAMSUNG UE40D6100SW (Panel LTJ400HV03-L), SAMSUNG UE37D6100 SW (Panel LD370CGB-C2), SAMSUNG UE46D6100 UE46D6100SW (Panel LTJ460HW03-V), SAMSUNG UE32D6100SW (Panel LD306SWGC)
PSU Advanced
The UE37D6100 model uses the BN44-00458B power supply unit using the PFC (Power Factor Correction) node - an active filter of the highest harmonics of the current consumption. In fact, it is a boost converter based on the PWM controller SPC7011F = FA5695N, which eliminates the charge current of the electrolytic capacitor of the rectifier filter directly from the network through open diodes when its charging current is determined by its reactance.
As a result of the operation of the converter, the envelope of the high-frequency pulses of the input current of the converter will repeat the shape and phase of the input voltage. The health of the PFC node can be indirectly judged by the presence of an increased constant voltage (about + 380V) on the capacitor of the rectifier network in operating mode.
The appearance of the power supply
Main features of the SAMSUNG UE37D6100 device:
Installed matrix (LED-panel) LD370CGB-C2.
The matrix control uses the Timing Controller (T-CON) T370HW05.
To power the backlight LEDs, a converter is used, combined with a power supply unit, controlled by the SLC3011M PWM controller.
The necessary supply voltages for all nodes of the SAMSUNG UE37D6100 TV are generated by the BN44-00458B power module or its analogs using the STR-A6052M, SPC7011F (PFC = FA5695N), FSFR1800XSL microchips and MDS1653RH type power switches.
MainBoard - the main board (motherboard) is a BN41-01604C module, using CPU chips: SDP1001; NAND Flash: KFG2G16Q2M; WT61P805, Sil9489ACTUC and others.
Tuner DTOS403VH083A provides the reception of television programs and tuning to channels.

 For masters and advanced users
If the SAMSUNG UE37D6100 does not have an image, but there is sound, the backlight of the LD370CGB-C2 often simply does not work. Moreover, LED-TVs usually fail LEDs inside the panel, less often LED-driver.
In such cases, you can see a barely noticeable image when the ambient light successfully hits the screen.
To replace the LEDs, disassembling the LD370CGB-C2 LCD panel is required - a process that requires experience and qualification from the master. We do not recommend doing such work on your own for TV owners and craftsmen who do not have experience repairing LCD panels
If there is no image, but the backlight works, the screen becomes a little lighter when you turn it on, and in the open TV you can see the light through the holes in the panel case.
In this case, the panel may also be malfunctioning - damage to the strips, loops, for example, as a result of moisture ingress after an unsuccessful washing of the screen, the T-CON (Timing Controller) board may be malfunctioning. But often the MainBoard BN41-01604C mainboard also turns out to be faulty, and a software failure is also possible.
Then, first of all, it is necessary to check the panel supply voltage, fuses on the T-CON board, as well as the supply and reference voltages of column and line drivers - VGH, VGL, Vcom.
If these measurements are within the normal range, it is necessary to use an oscilloscope to track the passage of LVDS signals from the MainBoard BN41-01604C, as well as synchronizing signals to the loops with the drivers.
Flooded or poorly washed LED-TV screens have the opportunity to recover, in about half the cases, usually if significant damage has not formed in the cables and planks of the panel.
