REPAIRING AND NOT THROWING AWAY

Richtige Fernseher haben Röhren!

In Brief: On this site you will find pictures and technical information about Service Modes, Circuit Diagrams, Firmware Update procedure, Disassemble procedure, Universal remote control set-up codes, Troubleshooting and more....

If you go into the profession, you will obtain or have access to a variety of tech tips databases HERE IT IS Master Electronics Repair !.

These are an excellent investment where the saying: 'time-is-money' rules. However, to learn, you need to develop a general troubleshooting approach - a logical, methodical, method of narrowing down the problem. A tech tip database might suggest: 'Replace C536' for a particular symptom. This is good advice for a specific problem on one model. However, what you really want to understand is why C536 was the cause and how to pinpoint the culprit in general even if you don't have a service manual or schematic and your tech tip database doesn't have an entry for your sick TV or VCR.

While schematics are nice, you won't always have them or be able to justify the purchase for a one-of repair. Therefore, in many cases, some reverse engineering will be necessary. The time will be well spent since even if you don't see another instance of the same model in your entire lifetime, you will have learned something in the process that can be applied to other equipment problems.
As always, when you get stuck, checking out a tech-tips database may quickly identify your problem and solution. In that case, you can greatly simplify your troubleshooting or at least confirm a diagnosis before ordering parts.

Happy repairing!

THOMSON 32D12
General recommendations for TV LCD LED repair
Possible manifestations of malfunctions
- The THOMSON 32D12 TV does not turn on and does not show any signs of turning on, does not respond to the control buttons and to the remote control.
Most often, with similar manifestations, the main power module SHP3206A-101H turns out to be faulty. Its output voltages should be measured and, in their absence, the serviceability of the power switches (FQPF5N60C, NCP1607) and rectifier diodes in the converters should be checked for possible breakdown.
In case of any breakdowns in the secondary circuits, the converter can operate in an emergency mode of a short circuit, and with a short circuit in the power elements of the primary circuit, the mains fuse or the current sensor at the source of the key often breaks off.
Breakdown of power switches (MosFet) in switching sources is sometimes caused by malfunctions of other circuit elements, for example, in the circuits supplying the PWM controller, frequency setting or damper, as well as in the circuits of Negative Feedback (OOS) stabilization. PWM regulators (PWM) MP1006, LD7536, if they do not have visible damage to the case and an outright short circuit between the pins, are usually checked by replacement.
- There is no picture, but there is sound, it reacts to the remote control. Or the image appears when turned on and disappears immediately
The most likely problem in these cases is a malfunction of the LED backlight. The reason for this may be an open circuit in the LED circuit, or a problem in stabilizing their power supply.
To test the LED strips, in order to open all the transitions of the LEDs, several tens of volts or more are needed; it is best to use a current source for such purposes. The breakage of several PN junctions connected in series cannot be detected with a multimeter or tester. In such cases, it is necessary to open the panel and check each LED. If your multimeter cannot open the LED junctions in forward bias, you can sometimes detect the presence of a protective zener diode PN junction by connecting the probes in the opposite direction. If the zener diode is cut off or broken in K / Z, then the LED is faulty and needs to be replaced.
- The TV does not turn on, the indicator signals the standby or operating mode, or blinks.
Repair or diagnostics of the 40-MS82VG-MAE2LG motherboard should begin with checking the stabilizers and power converters required to power the microcircuits and matrix. If necessary, you should update or replace the software (software). In cases of attempts to repair the MB (SSB) board, it is necessary to check the serviceability of its elements - MST6E182VS-LF-Z1. SPI Flash: 25Q32BVSIG which may require replacement with new ones. If a BGA processor is installed, there is a possibility of a violation of the soldering of the contacts of its pins with the board (detected by warming up).
If there is no reception of television channels, but the TV is working properly from external devices, first of all, you need to check the supply voltage of the TDQ-3CB 07-380F15-NFHG tuner and update the software. I2C communication pulses must be monitored with an oscilloscope.

The lack of an image in the presence of a signal from THOMSON L32D12 is often caused by a malfunction of the display backlight. Moreover, the problem can be both inside the LCD panel (matrix) LTA320AP07, for example, a malfunction of the CCFL (EEFL) lamps, and outside in their power source - the inverter.
Without backlighting, sometimes you can see a barely noticeable image with a certain successful hit of external light on the screen.
Often, repairing the backlight requires disassembling the LTA320AP07 LCD panel - a painstaking process that requires special attention and accuracy from the technician. In such cases, there is a possibility, with the slightest negligence, to damage the glass or loops and the TV may become unrepairable.
We strongly do not recommend doing such work to owners of TVs and craftsmen who do not have experience in repairing LCD panels! Moreover, at home (at the owner's home).
If there is no image in the presence of backlight, the screen becomes slightly lighter when turned on, and if the TV is open, the light from the lamps can be seen through the holes in the panel case.
In this case, there may be a malfunction inside the panel, damage to strips, loops, the T-CON board (Timing Controller) may be defective. But the main board MainBoard V8-4MT2302-LF1V213 often turns out to be faulty, a software failure is also possible.
In such cases, the master first of all needs to check the main supply voltage of the panel at the LVDS connector, the fuses on the T-CON board or the panel brackets, as well as the supply and reference voltages for line and column drivers - VGH, VGL, Vcom.
If all of the above measurements are within the normal range, then the oscilloscope should track the passage of LVDS signals from MainBoard V8-4MT2302-LF1V213, as well as synchronizing signals from T-CON to loops with drivers.

Attention to users! Self-repair of the THOMSON 32D12 TV without the appropriate qualifications and the necessary experience can lead to its complete non-repairability!
